Caramelized onions are great to have on hand to add to dips, burgers, pizza, grilled meats, sandwiches, focaccia and more. It is a first step to know if you are cooking Indian curries, like goat meat. While caramelizing onions isn’t a difficult process, it does take a bit of time and a little patience. It’s important to cook them over medium low heat until the sugars in the onions turn golden (caramelize).
When you cut more than one onion you are more likely to cry. But with my 4 tried and tested helpful tips it won't cause you to cry as much.
1. Open the nearest window where you are cutting onions
2. Light a candle next to the cutting board
3. Don't cut the root of onion in the beginning
4. Use sharp knife
