It is hard to size power generators to see if they work. Some are as low as 70% efficiency , a 1000 watt giving 700 watts due to power use of battery and inverter. Manufacturers won’t tell the efficiency so untill you buy it you won’t know. For storage just drain tanks or use heating pads for tanks with 200 solar panel with built in mppt and battery. Cheaper and will run for a decade.

I've put 3 months of research into buying each of my 2 power stations (Xtorm 500 & Ecoflow River 2). I took very well into consideration my power needs from the stations and their outlets, and doubled that to have it sufficient and not put too much strain on the technology. Seems like you just bought something without doing your due diligence. If you aren't rich, money doesn't gow on trees mate 😁 PS: don't use stuff like Xboost, it's not good for a battery, and when you use it on a fridge the compressor might blow out.

Wrong battery technology. Ecoflow have rubbish manuals in Chingish too! If you want a power bank look for LiFePO4 battery, like Bluetti. My Bluetti AC200Max will run the Caravan if needed, I use it on storage to give me 230v, but more importantly it’s a home backup that will run my home heating for a day, will charge off my suitcase solar panels (plus can charge off mains too at the same time) or the petrol generator in winter.

@@mistsmogguru8378 When I researched and compared options the Ecoflow was using Lithium ion, much fewer cycles and the only reviews and comments were from people who were given one! I looked at all options and real world comments and reviews before making my choice. Seems they’ve rapidly moved on! All these stand alone systems are more geared to USA if you want to fully integrate into home installations. For example Ecoflow have bought out a great sounding home back up solution with automatic switch over but there are significant problems safely integrating it into a UK mains installation. BLUETTI don’t even offer such a thing. But they all work well as a backup to run one or two discrete appliances or something that is isolated from the rest of your home installation.

What’s that you say? We need to buy the more expensive version of the power pack you were given? Excellent, where do I send my cheque? 😉 . Joking aside, if you’re going to a site without hookup, surely you’re used to working without it and are sufficient with gas and 12v. Even the larger one of these won’t provide power for any sort of extended break and unless you fill your van with solar, you have no way to recharge it.

It’s not a great way nor good value to operate off grid with a power pack, much better value by installing solar, a good controller and LiFePO4 battery in your van, add an inverter and for a lot less you’ll have a lot more available power. But as a versatile portable solution they are viable. I bought ours as a home backup supply and with a portable solar panel it can supplement our caravan setup to charge 48v eBike batteries using a 230v charger off the power bank which I can’t do off 12v caravan system.

I have the Delta Pro3600watt, the events I go to, are off grid, with 2x440watt solar panels I have run 3 caravans off the delta pro, but the daytime weather conditions were in brilliant sun shine in the summer. I would not buy the ecoflow 400watt solar panel as these are Approx. £990 inc. VAT. I bought from Hampshire Generators 2x Excel Power 440watt folding solar panels £599.99 each, on a good day have peaked nearly 900watts from these panels connected in series as per recommendation from Ecoflow for any large solar panels. The EcoFlow DELTA has a maximum input of 400W @ 65VDC 10A so can accept 2 x 200W Excel Power solar panels in series. The EcoFlow DELTA 2 has a maximum input of 500W @ 60VDC 15A so can accept 1 x 440W or 2 x 200W Excel Power solar panels in series. The EcoFlow DELTA Max has a maximum input of 800W @ 100VDC 10A so can accept 2 x 440W Excel Power solar panels in series.
