Hi, my name is Cory and I am a small town artist making environmental and ecological inspired artwork. In this video I document and talk about the ideas behind my artwork called Carbon Footprints.
In this video I contemplate the idea of a carbon footprint and create some 2D art. The process involved making homemade charcoal from a fallen tree and using it to make actual carbon footprints on paper. Not only is this piece a play on words, but it is a critique and examination of our over use of fossil fuels.
Each piece has 416 footprints (yes I counted!). I chose this number after doing research on the average carbon footprint. In the United States, that number is 16 tons/year. Being 26, that would make my estimated carbon footprint 416 tons for as long as I've been alive.
You can view Carbon Footprints with extra images and close-ups on its portfolio page here: www.corymorris...
