Very nicely explained. For sure it cannot be done in just 1 hrs I think. At least for some that would do it for the first time. Got my like. Just to ask you... do you have a video about replacing the brake pads on the XJ? Thanks a lot. :)

At 4;53 , there is no reason to loosen those lower screws . My personal preference is to disconnect fuel hose only at the pump side end because the plastic T-connector at the carburetor is brittle ( it may be 30 yrs old ) . There has been metallic aftermarket T-connectors available .

Take pictures or just follow your films, will take them out tomorrow maybe. Was running poorly last year against the cold in October, started in Nov and Dec. Now not running anymore.

Same yahamahaha here, quite rust in the tank, need to redo the fuel valve. Is the hexagonal thing a pump and are they serviceable? I am a bit afraid of the carburettors and my technical knowledge combined

The carbs are fairly easy. Keep them while (attached together) and it's just a case of loads of carb cleaner spray and ideally an airline to blow out any bits in the channels that you've loosened. Balancing is fairly simple too with just basic ability. Yeah, the hexagonal thing is a pump of sorts. It's a diaphragm that activates a valve basically when the pressure builds to suck through the fuel. Have you looked at the XJRider forum? An endless amount of information and How-to documents, most with photos.

Im having a nightmare trying to fit my xj600 carbs back on. They keep popping off the rubbers.

Yeah, been there!! Trying to get them all in then one pops off etc. Try warming them up with a hair dryer to make them more pliable?

highly recommend getting new ones as old rubbers shrink and lose flexibility. Those rubbers between engine & carbs aren't expensive and can easily be bought. But the rubbers between airbox and carbs are a completely different story. Those rubbers came in two versions with different diameters. And you can buy only used ones. I didn't realized that until I've disassembled my seca II and couldn't get airbox back on the carbs so have to buy entire used airbox with a set of 4 bigger diameter rubbers. Sometimes ppl don't realize that and try to put smaller rubbers on bigger connectors without success.
