I like to use my gel plate for really wet watercolor, like with Lindy's magicals and such. I wet both sides of the paper and it stops it from rolling! Good demo!

Hi, Ardyth. Another way I’ve found to make cardstock/inking darker is to cover it with Versamark ink. I’ve found that I’m able to get lovely color changes for those layered die cuts, especially leaves.

I love these so much. I love doing very graphically impactful designs like you seem to for some things. I also love looking at and purchasing products in ways where. Many people might be like, you want the dies but not the stamp? Or other things like that. If a certain element in a suite of coordinating products appeals to you, but the rest doesn't, why not? My brain fog is mighty today so forgive the awkward phrasings.

For using the stamp platform lid: after stamping the lines, could you move the cardstock up say a quarter of an inch and then repeat that stamping process again? This should give you more lines with less space in between?

When you said two colors from one pad I was thinking something different. Using the grey ink was really great!! How about trying that same technique with a second layer of the same color as the first? Then another alternate option would be to use a different color instead of grey. How about white? Or a sepia/tan color? Ooooo the possibilities are endless!! Thank you so much!!
@ardyth
Жыл бұрын
That also works - two layers of the same colour (let the first layer dry completely or they may blend and not get much contrast). And I also tried it with a very pale yellow (Buttercream), which was neat - forgot to mention it. I love that you love this idea! Thanks for watching!

I think “The Purple Onion” folks sold 2 different sizes of flat pieces of silicone which could be used in a “stamping machine” to secure de-blocked wood-mounted stamps. Hmmm … I have a clear stamp designed to make a recipe card that I could use, instead, to park an ink pad on to keep it from slipping about!!

Instead of going over the shapes with a light gray color; what would it look like if you covered 1/2 & went over it with the same color? I’m thinking dye & pigment inks may look different?
@ardyth
Жыл бұрын
That will work really well with certain inks. With CP inks, make sure the first layer is dry, to maximize contrast. I've also tried it with a pale yellow and it really warms up the colours. As for pigment inks, they are more opaque so you could get really cool effects with them as well! Thanks for watching!

I don't do inks, but it's the thinking that counts, right? As I watched the repeat stamping by moving the lid I wondered if it would work to move the paper one grid line, then repeat the process in order to get lines closer together. Then flip the paper to horizontal and repeat to create plaids.
@ardyth
Жыл бұрын
Yes! Absolutely! It definitely works to move the paper and gives lots of options. The viewer asked me specifically to test moving the lid, so that's what I did this time. Thanks for making that suggestion and for watching!
@lisabloedel539

For the stamp positioner door shift- you could then move your card stock an inch or so down, so that the line now stamps in between the first set of lines you already made to get lines (or whatever) closer together. Then of course do it all again with your card stock turned 90 degrees to make a plaid!

There are lots of types of sticky mats around - some are like the mats you use in a Cricut, but this one is really a large photopolymer stamp from Altenew - it works great and if it loses it's stickiness, you just rinse it off to refresh it! It comes with the Altenew Stampwheel, (available in lots of places) and on its own (only on the Altenew site right now).
