Most of his other game shows were on NBC (except for the syndicated Jeopardy!, where he served as host from September 10, 1984 until his death on November 8, 2020, including the posthumous episodes that aired for two months after he passed away at 80).

@kennethhuang371
2 жыл бұрын
Now that I understand how to play CARD SHARKS. the only things missing are its theme song and the Money Cards round of the game. Starting at the bottom row players get $200 and they bet across the line. When they move to the second row, they get $400 and they bet again across the board. Minimum bets are $50 until they get to the top card called THE BIG BET. Players must bet at least half of their amount. Norma Brown cleared the board perfectly and won $28,800-The only player on Card Sharks to accomplish that feat.(1978) I’m just starting to learn about Card Sharks and I’m playing pretty good games so far. Kenneth A Huang 8/15/2022
@LeotheTiger1234

Note that when Norma cleared the board, the second line only gave another $200, not $400. The $400 rule was introduced in the 1980s versions with Bob Eubanks and Bill Rafferty, to allow the maximum payday to be $32,000. However, you're right to say Norma Brown is still the only one to go all-in on every single card and win.

This very same theme song heard, had "Double Dare" with Alex Trebek on CBS one year before "Card Sharks" debuted with host Jim Perry, and this theme song to carry over on NBC. And opening poems were used to replace the opening spiel, which were for its first few months of the show, and continued until the series finale on October 23, 1981.

This theme to Card Sharks which was used on another Goodson-Todman Game Show called Double Dare Whenever I hear this theme to Card Sharks, it's makes me get PUMPED UP for the Game Jim Perry was more than just a Game Show Host, he was INDEED a TRUE Gentleman When it comes to Card Sharks, NO ONE can TOP the NBC Version Card Sharks from the NBC Studios in Burbank, CA had a great set and the logo was SO COOL Plus, I even enjoyed the Run the Board Rules from the finals months of Card Sharks Jim Perry did something no one else has done and that bring suspense, enthusiasm, intensity and excitement Bill Rafferty is a close second as he brought humor and fun as well Bob Eubanks on the other hand, while many of us associate with him on The Newlywed Game, my favorite Game Shows of his will be Dream House and Trivia Trap since they are the 1st 2 Game Shows that I've watched with him as host along with Powerball: The Game Show, Card Sharks wasn't his cup of tea, he started out good, but then he used his Newlywed Game persona and it got pretty lame real quick and was so rude to contestants, plus I didn't care for the Tiebreaker when it was a 1 question Sudden Death When Ricki Lake hosted it as part of Game$how Marathon, it was SO great to see them pay homage to the NBC Version of CS and they even had Ricki Lake use the SHURE MIC from Perry's Final Days on CS I use to watch Card Sharks w/the late Jim Perry in reruns on Pat Robertson's CBN (now freeform), GSN-Game Show Network and now, on Buzzr May God Bless This Man, R.I.P. Jim Perry, you're now moving to a much HIGHER place, please say hello to Mark Goodson, Bill Todman and Gene Wood for me also, The Models were great, Janice Baker, the late Areno, Ann Pennington (sister of longtime TPIR Model Janice Pennington) and of course, Future Actress Markie Post who later went on to great success as Bailbondswoman Terri Maxwell on Hit abc Adventure Comedy Drama The Fall Guy, Georgie Anne Lahti Hartman on the CBS Comedy Hearts Afire w/the late John Ritter and most notably, Christine Sullivan on the Hit NBC Court Comedy Night Court Markie Post also worked behind the scenes on other TV Games such as Split Second w/Tom Kennedy, Double Dare w/Alex Trebek, Family Feud w/the KING himself in the late great Richard Dawson and of course, appeared on The Gong Show w/Chuck Barris God Bless Her and she's still goin' strong and is STILL HOT!
