I've been following these tutorials for a while now and I've learned so much already, but this one made me exclaim in joy. I tried it a couple of times and didn't quite get it, and I was prepared to have to practice it a ton like the others before getting it even remotely right. As I thought that, I suddenly (kinda accidentally of course) pulled off a really good pirouette, surprised myself and vocally exclaimed how awesome this is. Thank you so much for helping me get a start in this fantastic hobby, I've been absolutely addicted for the last few weeks and these clear, concise tutorials are absolutely the foundation for that.

This isnt magic. Its cardistry.

Yea, while cardistry isn’t considered magic, cardistry and card magic really complement one another- cardistry helps with developing muscles used for sleight of hand, and it also serves as a perfect way to misdirect the audience, as they usually assume cardistry flourishes are just a part of the performance- and their very eye catching when performed well. Basically my message here is; cardistry isn’t card magic, but it will bring your card magic to new heights, so it’s an invaluable tool for magic, while not being magic in of itself. just as Cards are used as a tool for magic, but cards themselves are not inherently designed for magic. (Unless their gimmicked lol) So honestly your not as wrong as some people would make you out to be! Wherever you go cardistry will always go hand in hand with card magic

I don't get it, my index finger just slides over the bottom of the card why is there any friction to pull the card? I just rub the bottom of the card, no way to grip... same if i'm pinching tight or not at all. There has to be more to this move.

You should see some of the advanced moves 😆 practice is the mantra of magic & cardistry, I’m sure you’ll find it manageable if you put the practice in though!

Whoever figured this out was skilled no doubt, but lost to time. I like to think that we accredit their attribution to magic through practicing what they did first though, kind of a legacy to the unknown practitioners who’ve made their own contribution to making magic what it is today
