Hello from sunny Perth! Loving all your videos and seeing what orchids you can grow down in Melbourne. How I wish we could grow Miltoniopsis over here, but alas, they do not cope with our prolonged heat and sunshine. Cattleyas, Oncidiums and Vandas however.....grow like weeds! So I guess I cannot complain. Keep up the great work and I always look forward to when you post.

Your Miltoniopsis is a beautiful color. This is a very informative video. It looks like it is going to be more challenging then I thought growing them, while living in Northern Victoria where winter we have frost and summer temperatures get to over 40 degrees. Thank you now I know how to look after them, it has given a good insight into the Miltoniopsis orchids. 😊

Thanks for watching - yes, that sounds tricky! Mine are indoors in winter and outdoors, under shelter and in shade in summer. Melbourne can get pretty hot over summer but it's generally not constant. So I'd try and find the shadiest dappled coolest spot for them outdoors in summer or keep them inside all year with regular misting?

@@helloplantlovers Thank you, I will try it out. I'm quite new to orchids and thought I would have a go at a few different types and see how I go.

Always a good idea! If you can protect things from sub zero/frost and give them dappled shade and cool in summer you should be able to grow a good range. I made a play list for the types I grow outside all year under cover. Good luck!

Can I say, Kelly looks beautiful!! I’ve never seen one like that in the US 🤩. Thanks so much for joining in and sharing your wonderful insight! Terracotta sounds like it works well for you and keeps those roots happy. I may have to experiment with those pots and see if it can work in my setup. Would love to get away from plastic everything 🤣

I've watched all of your Miltoniopsis videos and I like how specific you are with temperatures, watering etc. Maybe the pseudobulb will put out another flower spike after the first aborted - I've had this happen on mine. Some of them even put out more than two spikes in my care. Hope the frozen one will let it go and continue to bounce back!

This was very educational. I have a feeling we have very close climate. As you said, I think I was overwatering them before. Some information on internet like “shade-loving” or “keep it wet all the time” sometime seem very deceiving. Not totally wrong but come across in wrong impression for the beginners. Love your presentation also. I just wonder why I never knew your channel before. The first one is so beautiful! And I have never seen or heard of it. And also the second one, I know a lot of Beet Field varieties but never heard of this particular one. Thank you for sharing.

Well thank you for watching! Yes - so true about all the mixed care messages about this one. And I just noticed a spike on my Bert Field and as it was near death in the cold but has recovered I might have to make a video about that when it opens!
