Someday soon, when it's all in place, there will be gemstones flowing from the cargo trailer while being out in the wild backcountry. A mix of camping, rockhounding, cutting and polishing. Little dogs running around. That's the world I want to be in! :D

Thats awesome! Youve got a saw that can travel with you and can rin off the power set up that you have currently! Thats amazing! And the HP saw will give you a better cut than a tile saw will. Lapidary saws run at a slower speed then tile saws and leave less cut marks to have to overcome when polishing. Cant wait to see how it works for you! Thanks Marc!

It is cool to be able to run a saw out there without a gasoline genny, Lisa. It's very cool. :D As you will see in the next coming video this saw does cut very nicely, leaving a super smooth finish. Like you say, that's a good thing in the lapidary world. That said, I'm not sure that a slabbing saw is the best saw choice for a boondocking campsite. I think most of the time I just want to wack something (a rock) in half to see what's in there. See if it's something to collect more of, or is it Leaverite. I just really like the speed and robustness of my old Felker Tile Master saw. I wonder if a "soft start" device might help it get spun up, It almost starts as is. Also, I have other saws!

@@camplapidary yeah, I get that. And a tile saw will accomplish that much faster.

Comfortable looking camp trailer. Put a little Texas Pete’s on those eggs and you’re all set. It’s good to know what you can and cannot do with portable power before you actually need it. Looking forward to more from Camp Lapidary, thanks Marc. 👍

Thanks, Keith! At home we use Cholula, I'm not sure why I never bring any hot sauce out camping. I should get a small jar for my trailer and just keep it there. Concerning the power station, I'd like to do a testing type video where I actually get out all the various tools I have and just see which ones will run. I might have a couple of tools that Big Blue might not get along with..

I just let 'em soak for the night and morning. I try to get them as clean as possible to look at them up close in the next video.
