This shows just the kind of guy Glen Campbell was. He's the star, it's his show, but he just played rhythm and let Carl take the spotlight! That's class!!

@@jimmytomkins5126 : Jimmy, a year after you posted this comment, take a moment to reflect on it... Was it appropriate? Was it necessary? Did it contribute anything worthwhile spending your time on? Was it even correct? I am not a Glen Campbell "FanBoy", but his achievements speak for themselves, and I smile when I hear his music... Why be negative just for the sake of it?

I owned a string instrument shop in Louisville, MS for many years. Anytime Carl Jackson was in town, he would stop by to try out any new banjos and guitars and chat a long while with the locals who were there to shop. However few people know how talented a luthier his daddy was! He could repair and make just about any instrument on the planet! Both of Carl's parents were so well liked in our community. They raised such a fine son ❤️

Carl Jackson....Marty Stuart....all school days friends of mine I am proud to say. Carl auditioned for Campbell at a concert we both attended in Meridian , MISSISSIPPI in 1970 or so. Carl graduated high school in 1971...I in 1970 in Louisville,MS. Carl replaced John Hartford in Campbell's touring band .Carl turned me on to the country rock BYRDS and the fusions of that style music. Carl and Marty were also school time buddies who played the county fair many times ...opening acts and alongside FLATS and Scuggs and many others that came through Louisville ,MISSISSIPPI in those days. In later years Carl was producing for Sugarhill Records and Stuart was with John Cash. Carl's Dad...Lethal Jackson owned a music store for a time in 1970s also. Visited with Carl and Marty at that time and in that place at that time. GREAT DAYS!!

I saw Glen with Carl in the Autumn of 1973 when touring the U.K. when my parents dragged me along as a reluctant 15 1/2 year old to a concert. I'm so glad they did, sitting two rows back in the Central Hall Chatham I fell a little bit in love with Carl Jackson lol....They were both brilliant and I've loved Glens music ever since.

Obviously Carl is a fabulous banjo player and if Glen said he was the best he's ever heard anywhere in the world...you can bank on that being true. Isn't Glen just a great person...here is this big star allowing this youngster to take the spotlight and Glen is playing accompaniment like a side man. Besides that Glen just seems to be reveling in the delight of this musical performance and sincerely enjoying it himself. Very honest and sincere love for music with no ego and no attitude...Glen is just a great May GOD bless him forever
