My wife asked me how I was able to play instruments and pick things up so fast. It wasn't until my sister discovered that Carl was our cousin, that it hit me. See, Carl was picking 300 pounds of cotton till the fingers bleed. Getting callouses was a way out, just as music soothed my soul too. I started in a church choir with my dad. Then the school choir, then stages at local events and finally television, but then the country faced dangerous times, and my life changed as I joined the military. Ask not what your country can do for you ! So I experienced what fame can do to the ego, and later what hard living can do to the soul as a soldier. I played music, the drums for 12 years, then spent 10 years in the military. My dad had been adopted, and I never got to know Carl, nor any of the family. I grew up in Canada. WHITE BOY HAD THE RYTHM ALRIGHT. My relations came from nothing, my dad got his first pair of shoes at age 6. So, I never came from money either. I looked into things about Carl enough to know, he had his times of fun on the road, but stayed true to his family always. He stayed humble, loved children, loved his fellow man, and he and Johnny I think knew each other better than any of the others through the years. Even the Beatles drove across town just to get their hands on one of Carl's 45''s. If there's anyone like a great fan, or connected to Carl personally or professionally out there, I have something very special to give them, in respect for what Carl gave to others of himself. Discovering I'm a relative has given me some closure.

You should put that in a book. I would pay $20 for a real story than the bs they pay double for nowadays. I bet you got some stories. I am 26. I have to teach myself guitar. KZitem helps. But the pillars of rock roll get me to practicing. Getting started is tough. Music was better then. Now it is propaganda. I sure would love to hear you play. Maybe you can post some lessons on how you got to your skill level? We cannot let Music fade away!

He seems very genuine, from a pool full of egos, i.e. Lewis, Berry, Elvis. As as if fame and legendary status haven't really changed him.

BadAss Song by another Legend of the same time. But he knows Elvis is the King. And listen to the words Elvis gave Birth to Rock and Roll and bought Memphis. I bet in the 1980s Elvis would if been Healthy back to his old self and got back with Elvis, Cash, Perkins, Lewis, The Million Dollar Quartet. Cuz Elvis never knew that Sam Recorded it the whole time he was Alive. And imagine the Duets with Dolly Parton Islands In The Stream would of Probably been him along with a Shit load of other's.
