If a very talented up-and-coming country star covered this song half as well as Carlene did it originally, she'd make a HUGE splash! Great song, she growls perfectly and is drop-dead gorgeously spunky. To this day, she still has an awesome voice.

I might add that the old man is, right now, yapping about Carlene being an invite to join us in the sack. But that kinda fits into the memories category, It's been ages since we've enjoyed that sort of thing (mostly girl-boy-girl). But yes, I'd be more than willing to share the old man with Carlene. We do, in fact, love her in this video. Thanks again, Alex. We loved this video.

I know this is going to sound made up, but hand on heart, this is true. Back in my radio days, one of the jocks I'd worked with had moved from California to Nashville to work as a session drummer. I was talking on the phone to him and his wife (who I also knew) mentioned they'd met her and talked to her several times. The wife said, "I told her that you and her would make a nice couple, and if you ever get back here I'll arrange a date". Well, it was about 15 years before I even drove through Nashville, so the date never happened, but I could have had at least one date with her if I had just saved up the money. Then again, I also turned down the chance to work for Buck Owens because I didn't want to move and didn't like having an hour's commute each way, so it's apparent I had poor choicing skills back then.
