I like how Carlsen maintains a steady precision in moving his pieces, even with sub-20 seconds left. Nakamura is slamming his pieces all over the place, knocking some over, etc, but Carlsen remains calm, fluid, and patient.

Naka is 3 pawns down with no compensation. In the final position, more material was about to leave the board (if White plays Nxb3 Blacks plays Nxb7) so there's no chances to stir up any trouble. Nc5 also guards the rook on b3 so the b pawn is no longer pinned and can capture the knight.
@SpiritualFox

+Isacc Newton 1:07 If white takes bishop with bishop, black pushes his queens pawn up. Black can't actually take on E4 with D5xE4, but it's important to realize that typically, white's black bishop is on E7, not A7... what this means is that if black gets a semi-open f-file, he actually has both his rook AND black bishop staring at the vulnerable F2 square. Then again, Nakamura might be a little too afraid of taking the bishop, as you suggest, since the position ends up looking an awful lot like the Archangelsk system of the Ruy Lopez (where black targets both his bishops at white's kingside)... perhaps Nakamura is afraid of the pressure/tacital possibilities against his kingside, as Nakamura himself often plays from the black side (of Archangelsk-style systems)... which implies that he thinks it's good for black, not white :P Honestly, the only difference between this and a Ruy Lopez line, is that black (Magnus) has saved a tempo by never playing B7-B5, while white (Nakamura) has retreated his white bishop as if B7-B5 WAS played, which i think is very likely to have been the key mistake. In positions like these, if black successfully plays D5 without losing a pawn, then most chess players agree that white loses his advantage, and the position is considered to be 'equality' (no player has an advantage).

They are playing a 3-minute game with a 2-second increment. That means each time they press the clock, 2 seconds get added to their time. This is meant to compensate the time they need to move pieces and hit the clock, but if you play quickly, you can gain time. This format has become quite common in blitz competitions. It avoids frantic end-games such as v=fNQjXHjRkNQ
@Kalamouri255

The rules say that if you touch a piece with the _intention_ to move (or capture or promote a pawn to be that piece), then you _must_ do that. Here it was not Carlsens intention to move the bishop, he pushed it over by accident, and put it back. In a blitzgame with Kosteniuk he grabbed a rook, lifted it, and then decided not to move it. Kosteniuk correctly demanded that he moved the rook.

@xtuber25 Nc5 played by carlsen was very strong. With that move, Carlsen protect the black hook, atack white hook, and there is another atack on white knight with b5 pawn. Theres no time to save the knight becoz the atack on white hook, and if white decide to exchange, black ill win easily 3 passed pawns. (black Nxb3, white Nxb7).

@Pliquer Outplayed might be a fair word to use. My point is that I've played (and seen) thousands of blitz games over the years, and the words crush, destroy...have usually been reserved for overwhelmingly one-sided games that are also usually short. This game was still somewhat competitive until the last minute of play and reached a R,N, Pawns endgame. I'd be happy to lose this way to Carlsen, and I don't even think most top players would feel too shameful losing this way either.

@9:42 : Finger-slip from Hikaru... the rook is at d7 not d8!! Magnus could haven taken the rook, but he adjusts it to d8 where it was originally intended. Isn't that a sign that Magnus MIGHT be a gentleman after all? Or maybe he knew he was winning anyway and didn't bother for a dispute.

What about Carlen's Fingerfehler at 1:22 ? It was quite obvious that he didn't want to move the bishop and Nakamura didn't say anything. One might not like the way Nakamura speaks before and after the games, but he knows what fair play means.

nakamura put his horse in a suicidal position. The horse took a pawn that was being protected by another pawn. The only reason Magnus could not simply take the horse right away was because the rook was pinning it down. When magnus moved his horse over, he was effectively attacking two pieces at once. This leave nakamura with the decision of which to keep. And at their level of play, that one piece would mean defeat anyway imo. tl;dr white rook pin down black pawn from attacking white horse by also threatening an attack on black rook. Black horse moves to attack on white rook, threatening two attacks.

Pessimistic Horse?! A knight, please call it the knight.
@roshanisgod5704

Yeah, Pessimistic is right. The pony was attacking both the house and the other pony at the same time while the pawn was the bait for either or to be sacrificed. Essentially, if he had to choose between house or pony, it wouldn't really matter because of the position he were in.
