It didn't hit me until near the end of the video... that is Scott Lennard. He hit my radar (no pun intended... ok, just a little) with his guitars. They are truly beautiful. Scott is quite eclectic and does many forms of "art", and until now I was unaware of his flying. I know this will not matter much for most folks, but it just made the bulb go off in my head when I realized who it was. LOL Cheers!

i could really use your advise, Im looking at the kitfox Lite version or the many knock off versions thereafter, looks like yours is similar knock/copy off as well of kitfox "lite" I see belite and badlands is making the kitfox lite version now in two different sytles, badlands is 100% welded chrome moly where belite is alum. and rivets construction? ANY INSIGHT OR TIPS OR RECOMMENDATIONS IS TRULY APPRECIATED. im looking for the folding wings and part 103 qualified. im going to research your carlson sparrow but I recall CaRLSON passed Away and someone else took over the sparrow???, this seems to be a big problem with ultralights, they keep changing hands/owners and hard to keep up with all this. for all i know maybe kitfox copied carlson? LOL yours is a tricyle gear over a tail dragger, i really like your plane, do your wings fold easily like the kitfox lite?
@touchstone8271

Badlands is the outfox light redesigned for 103. The bird is all up weight is 232 or 235 pounds. So gives you room for more engine, radios, exc. Its base climb with cheapest engine pack is ⁷⁵⁰ feet a min. Just my thoughts, I'm in the market. I like badlands and kolb fire fly.

65 miles an hour...255 pounds....5 gallon gas tank.....single seater.....no license needed. Many different models and styles. Slow speed is why you can get away with little or no training but tail dragger aircraft can swing out their tails for people not ready for it. Top reason for crashes in WW2 training and flying accident deaths. Tricycle wheeled craft are said to be more stable and forgiving with amateur flyers. Very cool stuff.

"LITTLE OR NO TRAINING REQUIRED" . . .I reckon that there will be many tombstones with similar messages in the near future with lots of airplane manufacturers advertising this effing stupidity. For heaven's sake, google a guy named WOLFGANG LANGWEISCHE . . .hen go and find his book STICK AND RUDDER . . .the best book on how to fly a three axis airplane that there ever was. Very nice visual piece. Too bad you people who make these things can't seem to get it through your heads to leave the cranked up racket - the supposed 'musical background'- in the garburator where it belongs. Almost without exception, whenever I try to get through one of these presentations, I have to turn the sound down as low as possible but not quite off just in case there is some intelligent useful commentary struggling to get heard going on in the soundtrack. Not only that, but a real life recording of what the pilot is actually hearing or thinking would be of more interest than some 9 year old's choice from Greatest Head Banger's Picks heard in the last 4 minutes.

Ultralights are fun/cost. There are plenty of people with "real" airplanes who also own/fly ultralights because of the fun/cost and hassle ratio.
@douglashillson1531
4 жыл бұрын
As one of the other commentators said a more realistic initial cost is $30K or even more for a Cessna. But, it’s not just the initial cost - it’s also the cost of ownership. An ultralight (minus hangar or trailer or tie down fees and assuming you didn’t take out a loan) may cost $10 to $25 an hour to operate (based on EAA numbers). A Cessna 150 could cost $50 to $100 to operate (based on the 150 owner’s association’s numbers). Of course hangar and tie down fees can add up, and it might be easier to find co owners for a Cessna.

I dunno, looks dangerous. I'm not a pilot...nor do I have much money, so it makes more sense to get a REAL pilot's license and fly a REAL caliber plane. I am an engine mechanic - and what happens if that dinky motor cuts out at altitude over those trees? I suppose it could happen with any engine, sure... but that motor is SMALL and could blow a wrist-pin or a piston ring easily under sustained, heavy loads.
