Carly has been eligible for the RRHOF for well over 20 years. If this induction had happened a decade or two ago like it should have, Carly would have been able to share and enjoy it with her siblings and others who have now sadly passed on. It has been a bittersweet time for Carly who sadly lost both of her sisters three weeks ago.

So happy that Carly Simon FINALLY got inducted into the RRHOF but in my opinion this should have happened a LONG time ago! I thought Taylor Swifts comment (who is known for her break up songs) named Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" as THE best break up song ever was fantastic! And no one sings Carly Simon songs like Carly herself. She just has that distinctive voice that I think is one in a million! And I am so sorry to hear about your sisters but I'm sure that they are both so proud of you and the accomplishments you have made and are now looking down upon you and just smiling from ear to ear for you! Congratulations Ms. Carly Simon!

This year’s induction class and ceremony was one of the best I can remember. The recipients and presenters were pure class and so respectful. I really appreciate the absence of political statements and the consistent reminders that music is about bringing people together. The finale with Dolly Parton singing her classic “Jolene” along side Judas Priest, Simon LeBon, Pat Benetar, Annie Lenox, Pink, Sheryl Crowe, Brandi Carlisle and the Zac Brown Band was priceless and further confirmed why the Queen of multiple music genres and philanthropy belongs in the RRHOF! The entire audience was on their feet with Lionel Ritchie, the Edge, and some of RR’s most epic performers gleaming with respect. Well done guys!

Having my first child, my mother urged me to name her after my sister Jil, whose middle name is Karlene. Well, I wasn't so keen on the name, though I loved my sister with all my heart. After asking my cousin, who had said if she ever had a daughter she wanted to name her Karlene, I did reconsider--after all, my sister had Karlene as a middle name because the 'original' Karlene was my mother's best friend when she had Jill, and became Jill's Godmother when she was baptized. I knew I didn't like the name, Karlene, that well, but I did love Carly Simon, and even if our Karlene had always been called by her given name, what was to stop me from calling her, Karly? Carly was always a Rock n Roll Hall of Famer in my eyes!! PS. My Karly sings beautifully, too!! ❤
