I just picked up a pair of the Napa ones last week. Very impressed for the $20 price tag. (Regular price in 2019) They are a little less hearty than the Snap On ones, but there's no way I'm paying $50 for a pair of wire strippers just to get a red handle.

Great comparison video BROTHER! I'd really like to see the Carlyle next to snappy. I may just pick up a set to see! Thanks for the video! 😁🍻🥓🇺🇸

ColdensCustoms Here is a link to a picture of my Snap-on's next to the Carlyle's. Snappy's red & Cary's blue. You can see how much cleaner the forging is on the edges of the Carlyle's, the finish on these things is fantastic. If you didn't know any better you would think the Snap-on's were the cheaper version, they just look rough in comparison. photos.app.goo.gl/4QYa5wDrwaHNE7ZT2

I have the Snap On version, love them. Got them for $35 ish. Broke my first set after a couple years crimping a 10 gauge wire, but I use them multiple times a week putting together wiring harnesses. Every person I've let use them has went and bought a pair afterwords. Definitely worth the money. Stays sharp for a longggg time.

Just so people know. The tip jaws are for grabbing the wire at the end of connectors. So you can pull on the wire and release the ends out of the connector body..So unless the body is melted. I have yet to buy a new pig tail using them. I just replace the connection ends if damaged. As Chrysler likes to use them cheap ones.

CARLYLE stripper/crimper part#WSCCP are on sale @ Napa till the end of the year $19.99. (2019) i spent 50-60 bucks on crimper/cutter and is worth every penny. but if these were available when i purchased snap-on ones, i would def buy the Napa ones. the NAPA part #WSCCP look almost identical as snap-on #PWCS7ACF. they did good job copying them for 1/3 of the price. the CARLYLE ones will go on sale multiple times a year. so if you miss the sale, wait till next quarter or month and they will be on sale again.

Mike's Tool Shed Yeah the sale is still going on right now. And these things are awesome! I do HVAC I've owned the Snap-on version for years but I actually like these better. Very good quality and they work great. By far my favorite stripper cutter crimper out there. You better buy 2 !!!

I've made all my friends comparing snap on to the better brands out there. Is that sale nationwide or is it just in your neck of the woods?
@mdlee52

Hard Knocks Forge Hahaha. You have some good friends then. I'm pretty sure that deal is going on at Napa nation-wide. I forgot to mention that Carlyle carries a lifetime warranty, while Neiko doesn't advertise any warranty at all.

mdlee52 Sale is nationwide. I'll be picking up mine this morning, since they didn't have any in stock. I picked up the real deal catalog and they also handed me their napa 'bible' which has everything from hand tools to car lifts to A/C machines. It's easily a solid years worth of porcelain throne reading.

I own both sets Carlyle and snap on. Besides the extra thick and red red grips on the snap on you'd think they were the same tool. Full life time warranty just like snap on, Napa will also deliver replacement / warranty tools Monday thru Friday. I love my snap on tools, I think Carlyle is worth checking out.

Did you not know that the Carlyle has the cutters just below the crimping parts above the pivot screw? That is one of the best features, it's insanely sharp and cuts wires like nothing. You knew about that...right? Looks like tbe neiko doesn't have that
@stinkycheese804

If you state "budget" then it has to be in the context of the complexity of the tool. Anything more than $10 for those is not "budget". You can get the fancy generic brands of wire cutters for $13 as context. Granted that is today, back then the generics weren't as easy to come by but also, back then the value of the dollar was higher so it's a wash.

Ya, the Neiko aren't exactly flimsy, but they're just not as confidence-inspiring as the Carlyle set. The Carlyle set is also noticeably more comfortable.

Carlyle, what a dumb sounding name for a tool brand. These retailers keep changing brands and names. Napa stores have a 60-75 percent markup on parts. I don't even bother calling to check Napa prices anymore because I know they high priced. Almost $20 higher on blower motor than Rockauto and it doesn't even have a connector, just 2 wires hanging out, and they would have to order it. Hell anybody can order it, what do I need Napa for! A Harbor Freight quality floor jack which cost $129 or less at HF, Napa wants $325! Big screen Autel scan tool is almost 5 grand in their "sales" catalog, $1300 online! Lugnuts for dodge at Napa $5 bucks apiece! The only way Napa can sell anything is on credit to people who are are clueless or too lazy to check prices.
