I am a huge music lover and I have heard in my lifetime all of the greatest singers, Streisand, Olivia Newton John, to name a few and don't get me wrong I love them and their singing, but NOBODY and I mean NOBODY touches my heart so deeply as Karen Did with every song she sang. Like her brother, Karen was a genius in knowing the perfect way to sing every song she sang. Her voice is jaw-dropping with every song she sang. I think just about everyone would agree that Karen almost always moves you to tears when you hear "That voice". I always Loved her so much all my life and the world lost so much when we lost the Brilliant Karen Carpenter. She will always stand alone at the #1 position.

Yes! Her voice always touches my soul. You'll love this. John Bettas, who wrote 6 of their megahits, was asked in an interview not too long ago, "What did Karen sound like when you first heard her?" His answer wow-ed me. He said, "I first heard Karen sing when I met Richard in college. Karen was 16 years old at the time, and she sounded like she did when she was in her 20's. She had that voice already, given to her by God."

I was 4 years old when The Carpenters came onto the music scene. Music was my refuge from the loss of my Dad dying. I always sang to the radio. Always. My aunt said I sang lyrics before I could speak completely... Hearing Karen Carpenter was inspiring. She taught me to sing from my soul. I emulated her. For many years she helped me through the darkness of grief. I wish I could have thanked her. To this day I get goosebumps and cry because of the pure beauty of her voice. The unbelievable magic of Richard's arrangements. Thank you so much for appreciating her. I love when young people look back and listen to music that I grew up with and can feel it and really appreciate it. Bless you dear.
