This version is terribly underrated. It deserves far more than the mere 23,000 views! The sound is cleaner & more exquisite than any other, even bettering Richard's Philharmonic Orchestra Album. With studio headphones 🎧 I don't feel as though I'm listening to a recording, but sitting in The Band! 🎵🎶

The first number one single for Carpenters. Karen's soul-soothing voice melted radio and the hearts of millions, and Richard's arrangement of a song that many others had recorded, made a classic that has not only stood the test of time, but one of the biggest hits of 1970. The start of many more hits, and cementing their legacy as the biggest selling brother - sister duo in music history.

@@hgffgh9311 girls were more real with natural beauty in the 70s, I've never known a time either, especially 1973!! and I get out all the time being in the entertainment business. Just my opinion. Wish I could go back in time when people were more dignified, not so rude and ignorant. fgh Did you ever think this person could be confined to a wheelchair. Cheers to have witnessed the 60s and 70s first hand, incredible decades.

There's always been something special about this piece, other than the gorgeous vocals. Made apparent here by the superior quality, there's a mix of old, current & new sounds present. A harpsichord, harp, brass horns, piano, etc. This was a game-changing gem!
Как сейчас не хватает таких красивых искренних голосов и песен какой являлась она .👍🎵😔

Karen Carpenter, Barbara Streisand and Linda Ronstadt where my vocal coaches growing up. Because I listen to and sang along to the songs on their albums. Nothing like learning about breath control and styling from these virtuoso performers

I find these quad tracks to be even more superior than the recent new recordings that Richard had with a full orchestra.... the clarity of each instrument and Karen's voice just rings out high quality. I hate to say it Richard, but too much is just too much.

I agree on that ➡💯, yet Karen's vocals were the only element he couldn't improve upon. All in all, that was a lot of work, time & money yielding very little change in the song overall.
