IronX is an iron fallout remover. Not a wheel cleaner. People often use it as a wheel cleaner, but it's not what it's designed for. There are things missing like surfactants and other bits of chemistry in there. And you wouldn't use IronX on a weekly basis. For regular wheel cleaning duties, use a dedicated wheel cleaner like P&S Brake Buster or Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner. They both clean wheels and tires.

Thanks Pan for such a comprehensive and informative video. I like car detailing and have applied ceramic coating on my own, my son's and friends' cars. Carpro is one of a few brands that I favor after trying so many others. The Carpro products that I prefer are the CQuartz, Reset, Reload, Essence, Eraser, Ceri Glass, the glass polishing pad and Fly By Forte. I found the Perl is good on the bumper and interior (including the leather trim) but for some reason, it did not last long as tyre dressing. From my own experience on 4 cars, I found that the CQuartz has better durability compared to the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating.

If you happen to have a sec, maybe this is a non-starter as I can't find any info anywhere - is Leather 2.0 suitable for motorcycle seats as well i.e. exterior usage a no-no? Fantastic as always. I love these brand run downs. I have a question. Well, a minor emergency really. Possibly major emergency. Recently, about a week and a half ago, there was a wildfire in my area. Of course being South Florida it also rained on the same day. It rained really hard for about a half hour, but kept threatening to rain again through the night. Regardless, after that first downpour I went outside and saw not just smoke residue film, but thick chunks of ash. I took out the hose and gave a quick rinse not knowing how much time I had before the next rain came through but knowing ash can be highly acidic. It didn't actually rain again.. Well, next opportunity to do anything about it was 2-3 days later. I only had about 30 minutes, so I gave it a foam and rinse. This did basically nothing. Next opportunity was a few more days later (yesterday Friday) so I gave it the full foam and contact wash followed by IronX. I can still see smoke residue film. Would something like Lift or Reset do the trick? No coating, just some CG butter wet wax that has pretty much reached the end of its life cycle. I don't care if all the wax gets stripped off, it needs to go anyway. I do have Koch-Chemie GSF, but not sure it's strong enough...because Gentle is right in the name. Foam and contact wash was CG Honeydew. Should I hit the whole car with Super Clean, rinse, foam, rinse, contact? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. You've never steered me wrong before...no pun intended.

I really really wish carpro would do something about their prices tbh. They seem to have awesome products and a solution for most everything but I just can't justify the price.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge 🙏 But I have a doubt, is the IronX appropriate for wheels or not?? Thanks again and keep on
@PanTheOrganizer
2 жыл бұрын
IronX is an iron remover, not really a wheel cleaner. Many people use it to clean wheels, but all it does really is remove brake dust and iron particles. For a deeper cleaning of wheels you would need a good wheel and tire cleaner like the ones I present in this wheel cleaner battle video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/y5yPwJxnqnRif44 But once every 3 to 4 months or as needed depending on your level of iron/brake dust contamination, you should be using an iron remover like IronX, on the wheels and paintwork.

Great video as always Pan. Question on these products. They have expiration dates. What do you make of those, and how long do you recommend we keep a product before it gets too old to use on your car? I've got a few half bottles of CarPro stuff that is 3 years old, maybe a bit more. Would you use it on your car? Thanks!

Most industry chemists I have spoken to all agree that chemicals have a normal shelf life of 1 to 2 years max, if kept in stable conditions and not frozen. I never go past the 1 year mark personally. But I would never recommend going beyond 2 years.

Hey Pan! So I came across a video from Sandro (Car Craft Auto Detailing) where he was using the Rupes nano with CarPro Essence to polish the door and trunk jambs. Is Essence the same kind of product as Rupes Uno Advanced? I know Uno Advanced is an All-In-One and seems like it'd be ideal for those areas.
@PanTheOrganizer

Yes Essence is similar as it lays down a small amount of ceramic protection and also has some fillers to hide minor imperfections like marring.

I have a ceramic coated car. Today, I used descale in a foam cannon, let it swell for a few minutes, rinsed it off, and then used reset for my bucket wash. Do you think it’s okay to use to wash my car next week using descale in a foam cannon again and use it in a bucket wash? I know it’s an acidic shampoo, but just wondering.
@PanTheOrganizer
2 жыл бұрын
As long as you don't use it every week, it's perfectly fine to use Descale for a decon wash, to remove accumulated minerals and water spots.

It slipped my mind to use it in a bucket wash for its full effect, but planning to use it semi annually to restore hydrophobic properties.

What is your take on Tar and Iron combination - Trix? I see many people are writing that using TarX and IronX separately is more effective. On the other hand, it seems handy to have 2in1 product.
@PanTheOrganizer
2 жыл бұрын
Yes using them separately is more effective. Trix is to save time. I prefer using IronX and TarX separately. You don’t use tar removers often as they can be quite harsh. Use on an “as needed” basis only when you have tar contamination and do spot treatments. Iron removers you will use more often, every 3-4 months or as needed depending on your level of brake dust contamination.

A bit confused Pan.. Do you need the Eraser step if you applied Essence first and then you are going to apply CQ UK 3.0 coating? I mean since it is a "primer", won't you just apply Essence and then basically remove it again with Eraser in that case?

Check the CarPro USA website it explains how and when to use Eraser if you use Essence. It’s too long to type.

Hi pan. Does LIFT remove wax ? Cause planning to add LIFT to my weekly maintenance car wash product.
@jacknash3365
2 жыл бұрын
Lift is pretty strong, so I'd say it would definitely reduce the life of a Wax. Any fresh waxes or sealants wont be completely removed though. I've been using Gyeon Wet Coat for ages now, so using Lift or Bilt Hamber Touchless, followed by a Top up of Gyeon Wet coat, is my preferred method.
@PanTheOrganizer

Lift has a pH 10-11 so it can eventually break down regular waxes and sealants. It's meant for maintenance of a ceramic coated car. Yes you can use it as often as you want on a coated car.

u said that ceramic coating is your favorite form of paint protection but, what do you think about ppf??
@PanTheOrganizer
Жыл бұрын
I am just not a fan of the look or feel or PPF. Plus, as I get a brand new car every three years, and do low yearly mileage, scratches and stone chips are of no concern to me. My cars are always pristine when I bring them back to the dealership. But for people who keep their cars for many years, and want the ultimate scratch and rock chip protection, PPF is the only solution. I would still recommend a ceramic coating on top of the PPF, for the best of both worlds.

CarPro recommends that you wait one hour after applying Essence, then wile with CarPro Eraser, then apply CQuartz. Instructions: www.carpro-us.com/amp/compounds/carpro-essence-extreme-gloss-primer-250ml-8oz/

I'm a bit confused, should you use Eraser after Essense?
@PanTheOrganizer
6 ай бұрын
As per CarPro themselves: "Do I have to use Eraser between Essence and CQUARTZ? Theoretically speaking you could skip use of Eraser if Essence was properly used via machine BUT it is hard to measure if you polished the lubricants in the Essence down far enough and so we do recommend using Eraser to be 100% safe. If possible, wait at least an hour after Essence before using Eraser."
