Nice Gary, the tel star sounds like it has a deeper low end, almost more BF fender. Rambler sounds a bit rounder in the mids. Hard choice between the two.

Both sound stellar. Great playing as usual. 😊

I was talking to my band mate last night about keeping the stock Telstar speaker since I’m getting a Milkman HT15 with the Jupiter ceramic but dang, I like that Telstar/Jupiter combo too! Might get a Jupiter for a brown Deluxe to try. Great playing by the way…

Thanks for the compliment Jeffery. I was going to swap a Jupiter speaker into my Telstar but I am enjoying the balance of the stock Carr Valiant (Eminence) speaker for now. For all I know it is still breaking in. I would like to try an Alnico at some point but they are in short supply lately.

@@gair1944 I trust Steve Carr’s vision & decision to go with the Valiant. I’ve seen the lack of alnicos on the market too. I’m lucky enough to have multiple amps with different tonal shapes and am happy with them all. Swapping speakers and tubes is fun, but takes me away from playing as well. And now I’m hooked on the glorious wet/dry setup, too many options! Cheers

I’d love you to throw a Carr Mercury V run clean into some of these Carr comparisons.

How many Carr amps do you own? I just picked up a Telstar...looking for a good amp to compliment that, Carr or otherwise.

These Carr amps sound this nice on what I assume is a camera-mic across some untreated spare room? Pffffttttt Sign me up. A new Telstar should be here in 8 days.

My room is actually heavily sound treated with professional wall sound panels sufficient to remove the bouncing room resonances. I am LOVING My Telstar!

@@gair1944 I was wondering to myself if that was some treatment behind the Gibson ES head-stock after I posted that. What a difference treatment makes. Am looking forward to the Telstar. My first boutique amp.

@@gair1944 Man, wow. I'm just barely getting started with this thing.Everything about an amp and guitar relationship that was supposed to work actually does. This thing hit another gear about 90 minutes into my first real quality time session. Wife and 2 dogs friendly attenuation with tone enough to please me? Check. As a bonus, I got more early Brit flavor than I thought I would be able to. It had been a toss up between this and the Mercury V.

@@patriotsbiker that’s awesome!! I live the Telstar. It has incredible versatility with the attenuator and quite a range of sounds depending upon your overall input volume in relation to the level of power attenuation. The 53/58 switch modes are also rather diverse. And I find the lean/lush switch modes equally useful
