The worst possible heat exchanger to replace are carrier / Bryant. I won’t do them anymore because of all the assembly and fiddling around you have to do to get another couple of years out of the units. You’re a better man that I.

I came across the same or similar model of the same age on LP like this one with a plugged secondary last week. It was bad enough that my eyes where burning. I checked with tech support on possible cause, they said to double check to make sure that the LP low pressure switch was routed through the low fire pressure switch and not the high fire pressure switch. Unfortunately I never got back to the job because our dealer could not get the primary section for like 30 days so the customer had his buddy put a new furnace in. Haven't had to do a 59 series yet but not having to assemble the primary section like on the 58's looks to be an improvement.

I did two of those 58 series you mentioned. Those things were a pig. These look much easier. Doesn’t mean I’d like to do one just saying your right they do seem quite easy. Nice job. 👍👍🇨🇦

I've watched several of your videos changing these new style heat exchangers. Worries me cause I have a 2019 tp6b on LP but I maintain mine personally! Also have a heat pump I run down to 20 degrees.

Just make sure your manifold pressure is set to 10"WC and your burners are in good condition. what HP model do you have

@Michigan Heating Guy I did notice I buried the high stage adjustment screw and it wasn't over 9.5" or so. My regulators are 3 years old. Ill have to adjust the one at the house. I did notice the burners have some surface rust but I clean the burners on my tune up everytime. My HP is just a 2017 single stage bryant. I have my vp8000 set to bring high stage heat on with a 3.5 degree drop. 2 degree drop or 30 minutes with the heat pump to low stage gas.

Did carrier make a bad batch of heat exchangers? I have almost the same model (59sc2b), installed new 2016, 8 years later I have 2 holes (first 2 near the condensation port). The part is covered under warranty, but sadly I can't find the part, and Carrier won't sell directly to me, and the labor is $1800?!? I've always respected skilled labor, but there is a reason I've learned to do most things myself.

@@MiHeatingGuy I live in Cleveland, it's the same part you just replaced in this video, the heat exchange where the flames blow in. I used an endoscope to investigate when it was running constantly in the temp switches were tripped.

I changed a 2015 heat exchanger out this week. Complete destruction, had regular service done on it. Rollout like a mother, 2 stage upflow on propane. I can't figure out what the hell happened to it. Gas pressure all in spec, vent run is ok, temp rise all in spec. It appears that it condensed early in the primary and rotted out in the washboard sections, no explanation for it though. That was the second my company has seen. Hopefully it's the last but I know that it won't be

Joe Quick question, when I remove the condensate trap to clean it out, can I just reinstall it back and will the existing gasket be sufficient and it won't leak? Or do I have to replace the gasket when I reinstall the trap? Thanks for your videos.

does that type of furnace be pitch slightly forward to aid in water drainage
@MsckMatt

if you mean the flue pipe, it needs to be pitched backwards slightly to the furnace so the water can run back and be collected and drained
