Despite still recovering from his lower leg injuries suffered almost a year before at Sanair SuperSpeedway (actually a short track) in Quebec, Canada, Rocket Rick wins this race after battling with both Al Unsers plus Bobby Rahal. Ironically, it would be the last win for him for almost two years, until this same exact race in 1987.

I was at this race as a kid and, boy howdy it was *nutty* when Michael Andretti's friggin' wheel came off. Nobody had any idea what the heck was going on.

I was there as well, in the infield. my grandma used to take me to these races. I was 12 yrs at this race.

124 the moment little al realizes the powers that be are taking the race win away from him, Jack Arute, the head clown tells little he has had no communications. Rigged racing at its worst. Crash on demands , pit debacles on demand , sadly this still continues today...
