42:36 Don't think I had ever seen a driver lose the championship and go over to congratulate his opponent's pit crew immediately in such a fashion. Something I've always remembered.

Michael Andretti at his absolute peak.EIGHT wins.....over 900 laps led......but he was 3.1 seconds short at the Indy 500.I attended the Portland race as well and he just drove away with it.

Yet inconsistency meant that Rahal (who won once) was still in the hunt going into the final race. Michael was always fast but he was hard on cars, which is why he only won one championship

@@senorsoupe I agree. And it's also why he was too impatient to succeed in Formula One.

A dramatic showdown for the final race to end the season came up a little anti-climactic. It's hard to argue with the final result though, in what may have been one of the most season dominant performances in CART history. The 1991 season was a lot of fun though.

Dominic Mako I agree. After Rahal went out, the rest of the race was just a mere formality.

As much as I don't like Michael Andretti, he really was incredible in 1991. Can't remember the last time a driver managed to lead every single race in a season.

If I am not mistaken, the only race all year that he did not lead at least one lap was at the Meadowlands. I think he holds the CART Record for leading the most laps in a single season that year.

@@Mistertbones Not from my perspective. TG's bad move was the 25-8 rule which gave CART too much of a moral argument to use against the IRL as "unfair" when the way they were running the sport was making competition a joke. If CART hadn't been so elitist and so carried away and only listened to what was turning off fans like me to CART in the early 90s, there never would have been a split. People who look back and celebrate CART-1994 celebrate something I found boring as hell and made me stop watching every race but for Indy.

@@epaddon What CART should've done was enter eight cars at 1996 Indy, instead of the US 500. The split left a black eye on the sport.

Paul Page doesn’t even know where San Jose is! It’s not north of Laguna, it’s south! Paul needs to stick to what he Knows, and leave what he doesn’t know to those who do!
