Thank you. It was a last minute split decision to head north, originally I was heading to Killhope Law in the south of Northumberland but I saw a lot of cloud cover in that direction and quickly changed my mind. I made a good decision. It is a lovely little walk this one, a lot of reward for very little effort.

This little walk is a lot of reward for little effort. However, if you go further onto Kielderhead Moor it becomes extremely isolated and some tough walking. Beautiful but also a true sense of being completely on your own should anything happen.

it's a nice little walk for a clear winter's day. All the best for 2024, Geordie.

You certainly caught a beautiful weather day for it, lovely sky! On the way driving back down from Scotland I decided to 'nip up' to the top via the fence line and come back down the way you went up. Boggy, tussocky and full of ditches to cross 😭, it took forever and I vowed never to do it again unless the ground was frozen solid! (the fence line way up, that is) Actually, I'd probably do your way up as a linear walk regardless of the ground conditions. Lovely views over both sides of the border! Great video, cheers 👍

It is a bit wet at the proper summit, can only imagine how the terrain went from the summit to the pike. Going straight up to the Pike is a lot easier, still a bit wet in places but at least you know where the land is. I remember doing the proper summit and thinking it was like a shallow lake in places.

it's only 3 miles there and back... a bit boggy in places but not too bad. A lot of reward for little effort.

Thank you. Definitely worth the walk up as it's not that far, only 3 miles there and back... And yes, you could probably get a wildcamp at the top. 😆
