I fell in love with this watch during the first 5 minutes of the video! I'd love to see the silver version with metal bracelet. Great looking watch

That is an ICONIC piece from Cartier because of its FIRST in-house movement. The diver version has a screw down crown, where as the de Calibre does not, hence, the 300m water resistant. Because that's an all precious metal piece, the crown cabochon is an actual sapphire stone. Cartier is GOD Tier of ALL watches. The Sub doesn't even come close.

The Cartier Roadster S was the watch you were trying to figure out with the first rubber band on Cartier

I finally had time to visit Cartier's fancy Dubai mall store to try it on last week, well - I really liked it because it had almost everything that I am currently looking for in a luxury brand watch I.e. Rubber strap / Rotating bezel (daily use not for diving!), Legible time, Moderately fancy / Borderline affordable!!....apart from the Pin & Buckle system which I really don't like as it's not practical... I just need to decide on that last point but so far nothing else comes close for me at that price point. (Part gold option)

i belive the cartier roadster had a version with rubber strap, and rolex and omega and lots of other brands have gold divers!

Just saw the steel version on rubber in the wild, at an airport on the wrist of a businessman in a suit. Didn't work IMO.

Sunyata But in French it's caleeb' or caleebr', the final e is mute, same as in metre. He is using the French pronunciation because the watch's name is in that language.

Steel is better. Especially for diving as it will take abuse and when it gets scratched it is easier to get cleaned up.

Skinny hands, solid gold and Roman numerals on a dive watch are a no no. I understand Cartier made this as a luxury item for people who wants a higher end dive watch for the look rather than a tool but it bothers me that so many dressy elements are involved in a watch that is supposed to be a different theme. This is highly disappointing for me. If it weren't for the Cartier name, this watch would get highly criticized by everyone.

You are very wrong mate. Look around and you will find many watch snobs praise this watch. Not every diver's watch has to be a copy of the sub and I am glad this watch is not.

You will not like this watch when you first see it. The reason is because your brain is programmed to see a dive watch in a specific way. But if you pay careful attention to the details and understand the design then you will appreciate the thoughts behind this brilliantly designed watch that stands apart from other 'luxury divers'.

UMFBR C Not leather. (Did I say leather ? I don't think so.)But steel or another metal bracelet. Besides, how many people wearing a dive watch actually dive with it ? Most don't.

No, no, no! A gold dive watch? Say it isn't so! I've heard of decadence but this is ridiculous! A dive watch is a utilitarian, going-to-get banged-about device, while a gold watch is for ordinary, every-day use. Some gold watches can be taken for a little paddle in the sea, but not for serious diving. Come on people, far too much money and far too little sense!
