THIS IS FROM THE SECOND DAY OF THE CITY ERA! If I recall correctly, the CN logo was just the big "C" and "N" letters for the first day or so after the rebranding, no "Cartoon Network" lettering on the bottom of the logo.

That's from the second day of the City era with the then-new logo. Days earlier, promos of "Rescue Heroes" and "The Cramp Twins" show up on Cartoon Network, with the voice of Doug Preis, in one of his last Cartoon Network announcing stints.

I wonder if CN aired the Foster’s “who’s the blue guy?” with the old CN logo right before the rebrand.

Now I remember this commercial when I was 7 back on June 15th, 2004. That is only one day after Cartoon Network recently launched their 2nd logo and CN City era on June 14th, 2004 after 12 years of using checkerboard logo from 1992, and their Powerhouse bumper from early 1998. And it also comes two weeks after Cartoon Network's sister network TBS launched the new logo and the TBS' slogan "very funny" on June 4th, 2004.

If I recall correctly, during the first weeks of the rebrand CN still used the 1992 logo on some of new City bumpers as a secondary logo. I know there has to be a recording out there of the long CN city intro bumper seen at 0:36 with the 1992 logo.

Do you have a recording of Cartoon Network's logo change on June 14, 2004 (including reruns of Time Squad and Captain Planet during the early morning hours before the Powerhouse era ended)?

I'll be honest, when it comes to this era of the channel and beyond, I'm still a bit indifferent towards it. It was definitely a step up from the Powerhouse era with its presentation and the continued world-building, but it lacked the color of the Powerhouse and Checkerboard eras and the sepia lighting just didn't help it much. The logo changed bothered me from day one, and I started to feel short-lived relief any time I saw the original logo. This is also when I started to realize that the new shows just weren't for me anymore. Aside from select shows (Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Class of 3000, Xiaolin Showdown), I just felt myself grow out of the new shows at the time and longing for the old stuff, the Cartoon Cartoons, the long extinct anime of Toonami (Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, and even Hamtaro once it disappeared). Foster's became monotonous, Camp Lazlo felt like a weaker Spongebob clone, My Gym Partner's a Monkey was unbearable, and I was in the minority that just didn't have interest in Naruto. This was also around the time where most of the cartoons form the golden age of animation aside from Tom and Jerry had disappeared and those old shorts as well as almost all of the Hanna-Barbera library were just relagated to Boomerang, which I wouldn't even have until 2013-2014. I was only nine by the time this commercial break aired, but I stopped watching the network actively by 2007, three years later by the time of 7th grade year, which means I thankfully missed the CNReal nadir. I just don't know if it was because I was in middle school at this point, but overall, while I understand that people still love this era, for me, it legitimately felt like the beginning of the end.

The Yes Era was when I began to lose interest in Cartoon Network and began watching Cartoon Network less and less, due to the Yes Era trying too hard to be like the City Era. I also didn't like almost any of the new shows either and the Yes Era had very bland and generic bumpers. The CN City era was the last good era for me. Of course, Cartoon Network ultimately fell apart by 2007, especially in Fall of that year for obvious reasons.

The way CN brought some of those 80s Hanna Barbara cartoons mixed with New shows like power puff girls and dexters lab then you throw in the anime era which was still new at the time.. it was just a special era and that feeling can’t be duplicated. You can tell after 04-05 they were in a transition. I definitely preferred Disney channel at this time

@@RedCGaming12 It seemed like the Powerhouse era literally had everything, it's original series (Cartoon Cartoons), Hanna-Barbera cartoons from every generations, the amazing classic theatrical shorts (Warner Bros., MGM, Fleischer Studios), much of the Adult Swim programming, several different anime genres on both Toonami and Adult Swim, several different cartoons that previously aired on either Fox Kids and Kids' WB!, if not both, shorts from the National Film Board of Canada via O Canada, and the weekly movies courtesy of Cartoon Theatre. From around 1998 to at least 2002, it was undisputably the best place for cartoons.

I still really enjoyed CN during the City era. But I have to admit, there were some changes that I didn’t like, like for example Toonami was moved to saturdays, and some of their newer shows during that time wasn’t that good. But some of their newer shows like Fosters home, camp lazlo, Puffy ami yumi and krypto the super dog was pretty good tho. And while the scheduling is good during the CN city era, it was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I agree about the powerhouse era has the perfect balance of classic cartoons and CN original tho. But I have to be honest, I wasn’t too much of a HB fan aside from shows like Scooby doo, and Tom and jerry of course but that’s just me. And most of the original cartoon cartoons that time started to showing reruns less and less that point. Tho most of them air on early morning/ friday midnight hours or during the times when PPG and Dexter lab aired on weekdays at 2:00/2:30. But tbh, I couldn’t stay up at midnight to watch some older cartoons cartoons nor wasn’t on home on time after school to watch them.
