A huge thank you to all our Greater Philadelphia area partners and mentors who made the Summer Caruso Challenge 2022 a success!
The caruso Challenge is a 16-part Entrepreneurial Program designed by UIF that teaches high school students to think and plan like Entrepreneurs as they work to solve problems in their community. Students investigated solutions for food deserts, affordable healthcare for the elderly, and transitioning youth offenders back to school.
All the students who participated earned college credits at Philadelphia area schools. Thanks to ExcitEd for providing students with a generous stipend to come out to our Devon headquarters and complete the curriculum in-person.
The Caruso Challenge is made possible by the Uncommon Individual Foundation.
Founded in 1986, by Dr. Richard E. Caruso, the Uncommon Individual Foundation (UIF) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit leader in mentor-based learning. A successful entrepreneur, and former CEO of Integra Life Sciences, Dr. Caruso attributes his entrepreneurial success to the mentors he encountered throughout his life. UIF is his way of ‘mentoring it forward,’ to help individuals and organization succeed through curated connections to mentors.
