Carving New Paths is the story of the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand, and the ways they are keeping their culture alive in an increasingly globalized world.
Spanning two countries halfway around the world, this documentary starts at the Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand, and jumps to Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. The story depicts the beauty of a traditional Maori carving, the meaning behind being Maori, and the international family they're building to share their culture with the world.
