Based only on looking at the Mani Cascade Wallet via your video, and comparing against my own Secrid Slimwallet (Dutch Martin Whiskey; an Aug 2016 design), I would say that the Secrid is better designed and easier to use, but the Mani is more overbuilt and has a nice industrial design (which I do like). The cool thing about the aluminium body of the Secrid Cardprotector (which are purchasable alone or in other variants: newly designed Aug 2016 Cardslider add-on, or leather Slimwallet/Miniwallet/Twinwallet designs), is that it has a much simpler design overall. Though the Mani Cascade has a better, nearly flush, latch mechanism for cascading cards (big bonus!), the overall mechanism to get cards out is more cumbersome; open card door, hold latch slider up, use your other hand to get cards. The Secrid Cardprotector has an exposed lever latch but once pulled back cards cascade out and remain out yet held in place. This is cool to pay at contactless paypoints without taking out actual credit or debit cards, and you can take any card out one-handed. The Mani Cascade wins on holding more cards however, especially raised cards. Secrid Cardprotector's can hold 6 flat cards, 4 raised and 1 flat (my configuration), or 3 raised and 2 flats. This is why I got the Slimwallet, to hold more stuff in beautiful leather. However, Mani can hold more cards and has an exposed money clip in a slightly slimmer profile, so it has those as an advantage. I prefer the enclosed money clip in my Secrid Slimwallet as it can hold more stuff and is discrete, but this adds some bulk (still a slim wallet nonetheless). The Mani Cascade is bigger than most Secrid offerings (ignoring Secrid's monstrous Twinwallet), but depending on how you use both, one could be slimmer or fatter than the other. One final advantage of the Mani Cascade wallet is the packaging and display box: WOW! I already use my former FireTi Omega Titanium wallet for business and discount cards, but I am seriously considering getting the Mani Cascade for such a purpose and emergency use. Thank you for the video @eyespy0099! ^^

Hi, Excellent review! Answered many questions I had about this product. Is the manual top cover operation annoying? Can it open just by sliding the mechanism? How many bills can fit in the cover slot? I usually carry 10-12 bills. Wil this make a big bulge in the cover? Thanks

I have the SECRID Thin Wallet, it's very nice looking and it holds 5 cards securely (2 of them embossed). The cover can hold additional cards. But sadly I purchased the Thin model rather than the Mini, which has a clasp. Whith 6-8 bills inside, it does bulge (expected), but there's no clasp to securely hold the bills. This wallet (Cascade) seems to better hold the bills, since they're placed in a traditional bill pocket. I'd appreciate your input on this. Thanks.

I don't recommend buying this product if you even have the slightest chance of returning it. Customer support is absolute trash and have returned the product weeks ago with no refund yet. I am very frustrated with the company. To make matters worse if you do decide to return it they make you pay for shipping! Save your money is all I have to say.

Definetly one of the worse wallet in this category, also, insanely overpriced. There are so many more of these out there that serve the exact same functions, much better, and are at LEAST half the price. It looks nice, but I have ordered 2 of those and both are completely worthless in their own way. The money clip is of super cheap quality and bends and become useless in no time, its also super awkward to use and doesnt fit a lot of bills. The door on the top is super awkward to use and open, its also quite sharp and my girlfriend actually cut herself, slightly, opening it once. On the other hand, my second Cascade wallet's door came completely loose. It literally flips open by shaking it slightly with no cards in. So you can imagine what happens when cards are in. Everything falls out super easily! And there are no screws or anything to help fix that. It was always looser than my first cascade wallet, but it wasnt so bad for the first month or so (by then the refund warranty expires.) It only got progressively worse from there, but we have had all our cards on the floor very often before. One good note is that my first wallet's dooris still as stupidly strong and hard to open, which in a way feels safe for my cards at least... I tried to go to customer service, but sadly, they are quite useless and type the same messages saying sorry and quoting the terms and conditions of their warranty. They will accept the returns of the wallet to "inspect and repair if needed" but I simply do not want anything to do with this company or their wallet. And they make you pay the shipping to return it to them too. There is SO much better out there, trust me. To Resume: -Very cheaply made bad/inconsistent quality wallet -Money clip will bend very easily and quickly and is absolutely useless even if it worked proprely, especially for North American currency. -Very bad customer service, and only 1 month warranty for refund. After that its only "repair and replacement" and YOU pay the shipping. -Super overpriced for what it is, MUCH better stuff out there that accomplishes the same thing. So PLEASE don't buy this wallet, for your own sake.

@JM Thank you for describing everything. What wallets would u recommend, since I normally hold around 8 cards, some cash, a few coins and some keys in a really bulky wallet?
@quwenzmob1767
5 жыл бұрын
@@tkay1937 You could try the Secrid cardslide that allows you to carry a few coins and keys while keeping a minimalist profile. It's a full aluminium look thou so if you're more into leather wallets it might not make the cut. What I would truly recommend is getting a minimalist wallet for your cards and notes that you carry on a daily and try to get rid of your coins, cash is less and less needed anyway. Alternatively you can buy a small leather pouch for your coins and keys and a minimalist wallet for your cards, it can help for the "no-coins" transition. If you decide to go with a wallet without coin pouch, I would recommend the Bellroy Slim Sleeve or the Secrid slim wallet. Hope it helps:)

Based on the design of the wallet, the leather attachment and the sockets on the metal part of the Cascade makes me think one could perhaps machine together an attachment that holds coins. If one is good at crafting it would be neat to take apart the leather attachment and somehow modify it for whatever you need - hell maybe even a spare car key or something.
