Nice footage and a true classic machine but I'd have to question why he was turning with the implement still in the ground!

He was just trying not to miss a spot. Probably not the greatest practice, I agree.

@@mjoe7 hi and thank you for your reply. Some rippers like that have their draught 'arms' pivotted about the main beam in the vertical plane, which allows them to move in the lateral or horizontal plane. These arms were rigidly attached and so would definitely feel the strain of repeatedly turning with them still in the ground.

Because it goes deep with wide shanks in the ground. It takes a lot of power. Thanks for the question.

It should be able to pull a wider ripper than that little toy. Think BIG.@@mjoe7

@@John-nc4bl I prefer to go faster than over work the tractor going slower with a bigger Implement. The 4490 was the smallest 4x4 Case made. It's only 175 pto hp.
