I’d keep that plug you made never know if you might need it again one day awesome job finding the problem I’m wondering how long you were looking for it though 😂if it was me that would have been the last thing I found after checking hours of other stuff lol thanks for sharing

When you get the switch in and are done with your jumper I would ziptie it to the harness so if the switch fails again you have the jumper plug where you need it

I had a similar issue with a tractor. The tractor had a spring steel that tge clutch peddle pushed on that in turn pushed a button allowing the tractor to start. One day tractor wouldn't start, took an hour to figure it out. For a while I just reached up and under the cover and pushed the button to start it, then I did the wire loop bypass, now it has the plug cut off and a wire nut.

if you know the wiring patterns for the combine and the safety interlocks etc. you can troubleshoot all of the issues that come up. then isolate the issue. and methodically remove the variables. great job finding the problem and determining a safe bypass for temporary to be able to harvest.

Our 2388 is a 1999, and I'm not sure if it has that switch. No need to push the clutch in. Yours must b newer?

I think I just push the clutch out of habit it's just a safety thing I've always done
