As someone currently dealing with five years worth of pain and immobility because male doctors have not been listening or at least taking me seriously I can not thank you enough for what you do especially the education for others 👏 after five years of not taking me seriously MRI finally revealed suspected fibrous dysplasia and I expect a lot more conclusive diagnosis in my future. I have appointment with neurosurgery soon and hope to have a doctor with the empathy and compassion you show. ❤

Great case-study. You mostly mention conservative care of prescription medications, less restriction in the area and weight-loss. It's worth mentioning other conservative care like specific bodywork around the inguinal ligament and fascial adhesions for the area may speed recovery up exponentially.

Outstanding explanation of the nerve innervation and differentials. I know first hand how irritating to down right debilitating this condition can be.

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing such a thorough video on the explanation of MP. Doc, I’ve had a 360 lateral fusion with cage and screws. The doctors in Houston did a great job. The lower back is fine, but for the last 5-6 years or so I’ve had incredible pain on the right thigh region with the same exact symptoms you describe. At times it’s unbearable. I’ve recently found some stretches that help a little. My weight is fine and I don’t wear tight clothing. I really would like the femoral nerve removed, but would like to hear what you think. This is crazy, but I’ve had dreams of stabbing this nerve area with a butcher knife due to the pain. I’ve located one surgeon in Houston which performs femoral nerve surgery but contemplating to make an appointment. Thanks again for the video.

Hi, I am a recreational runner (44 years old male), been doing cumulative 40 km per month during last five years, but recently I wanted to start prepare for marathon run, and all of a sudden I started doing cumulative 220 km per month. Transition was sudden. After two months of running 220 km I started to feel tingling, numbness and burning pain in the outer thigh of my left leg. burning pain is concentrated just above the knee. Just prior to having started having these sensations, I had a 6 hours long car drive with leather belt around my waist, as well as another ecd belt and of course car safety belt. Some say that too tight belt can cause this condition. Anyways, I am not sure if the belts caused it or the increased volume of running, but I already have this condition for cca 20 days. There are some exercises I found on the internet called nerve flossing that I started doing but no results so far. Regardless of the genesis of these annoyances, the fact remains that during the running the symptoms worsen, while in other activities like walking or cycling, I have almost no problems. The question is if someone of you had similar condition caused by running and what should I do, stop running completely or maybe this just goes away? Thanks in advance.

Do you think using a hip flexor release tool would cause this?

I had a lateral release surgery and an extesor realignment surgery. After surgery I have had numbness in the outer aspect of my right knee. I also found that I had numbness in my soul of my right foot. I later developed CRPS in my right knee. I also suffer from fibromyalgia. The reseason I needed the surgery wS I fell knee first on a cement floor. I had hairline fractures in my tibia, femur and patella from the fall. My dr had me get a second opinion after 5 mos. The second dr found the fractures I had been walking on for 6 mos.witbout knowing. I did have my knee replaced in 2011. I still have the neuropathic pain. Now my gibular head likes to pop out of place. My pain management dr is giving me shots to try to keep inflammation down. I have almost passed out from this pain. Something unrelated that I had the right hip replaced last year and seems to be doing well. I get my knees and hip xrayed every year and they looked great. I didn't expect the knee to be pain free from the replacement but I know that the bone grinding is gone😂.
