What a bump..7.0 to a 9.0. Not much else can be said but WOW. Love the case study vids. I would hope in the future you could do a more indepth video on the full length process of whitening with the light box.Frequency of spraying and overlays when and when not too's sort of thing. Might be boring for some watchers but very helpful to many of us that like the suggestions you provide..Thanks a bunch for putting up videos that help viewers understand the treatments and not just showing the grade like so many others already do in videos.

Nice job - but the only reason this is not considered restoration is because the grading companies can't detect it. And the majority of comics graded in the last 5 years have undergone a similar process - making a mockery of the whole 'unrestored' and 'restored' labels. In order for the hobby to mature, CGC are going to have to deal with this. You simply can't have one form of restoration given the green light while other forms are devalued. I think it's time to ditch the 'restored' category in favor of a 'conserved' category. This would bring the hobby in line with established paper conservation practice and end the ruse of the perfectly preserved comic book.

I know you use a lot of the 1.5% peroxide when doing your light box treatments. When do you recommend using the 3% mixture on stains for that treatment?
@TopComicsPressing

@jonr269

@@TopComicsPressing is that due to the risk of older books becoming damaged or the pages to brittle?

@@TopComicsPressing ahh that makes since. As I’ve heard people getting dinged with that when cleaning Their books with peroxide. So that’s why you use the 1.5% over the 3% the book says. So you shouldn’t see a substantial whiteness diff. In books older than 1976, but it will help with removing the stains and all when using the 1.5%. Other question is due you use an abscone sponge when there is grim in the yellow or color parts of the cover. As I’ve had difficulty removing dirt that is on the color since the dry eraser can’t be used.

hey my dude. What do YOU do/use, or what is your typical goto, to remove fingerprints from your books?

@Top Comics Pressing So dirt and soiling are staining. Would dust shadows be included in Bled? When the book is more brown can it also be done? Should you steam first to hydrate if the paper is more brown than yellow?
@TopComicsPressing
Жыл бұрын
@@skinprison dirt and soiling are dry clean territory. I do not hydrate first. Depends on shadow, era of book and if there is other tanning. But often bled-o can lighten light dust shadows.
