As a gravel cyclist myself, you left out one of the most disturbing facets of Moriah Wilson’s murder: the fact that her murderer found out where she was because of the GPS sports app Strava. Normally, it would censor out your exact position, but not when you’re not at your house or work. Because she was traveling for the gravel race, she wasn’t at home, and was therefore vulnerable to people being able to track her GPS location, which was revealed when Mo went on several rides around the area.

My mother once told me about an encounter she had back during high school. One night, still in her school uniform, she was heading back home from a study session. Suddenly, she told us, while walking in a dark street, she felt a shiver on her back and quickly turned around, only to come face to face with a strange man brandishing a knife, held over her head. As soon as my mother came face to face with her would-be attacker, the man nonchalantly apologized, saying he mistook her for someone else, and went about his own way, leaving my mother behind in shock. My mother was mere inches away from being in the wrong place at the wrong time that night. This would have probably been back in the late 70s or early 80s.

@mommy2libras
Жыл бұрын
@@vespervenom2343 I wouldn't think so. First, the killer didn't choose where Matt parked, Matt himself did. That it was a camera blind spot wasn't even really coincidence seeing as how in the 90s, most of the world, even in major, bustling cities, weren't under any type of surveillance at all. Second, I doubt the killer did anything to make themselves "invisible" to everyone else. Fact is they obviously didn't care if they were seen or not. If they wanted to conceal themselves then they wouldn't have carried this out in a parking lot in broad daylight at a time when a bunch of people would be in the parking lot- going to work time. They'd have gotten him at home or somewhere more isolated or at night. It's no surprise people didn't notice anything- one sound while everyone present is in their own car with the radio on, thinking of everything they have to do that day, gathering their things- if you heard a noise that you didn't recognize as a gunshot while you were occupied, you wouldn't study everything present either. If it even registered at all you'd probably still ignore it because you're busy with yourself. It wasn't until the woman actually saw him that they realized it had been a gunshot and what had happened. As for waiting 11 whole minutes- oh my god- people forget that there was a time we didn't carry phones everywhere with us. I'm guessing people assumed that someone had already gone in and called for help- everyone thinking that obviously someone did but no one actually doing it themselves- and it was probably someone saying something like "what's taking them so long" and someone going to call again to find out only to learn it hadn't been reported at all yet. Surprisingly, this still happens even with everyone having a phone less than a foot from their hand at all times.

They might be trying to outsmart detectives for a lesser sentence or for insanity plea, but when someone actually kills someone, that person is crazy and insane. "For some inexplicable reason though, it took the onlookers 11 minutes to call for an ambulance." This could be chalked up to the fact that it was 1994, and very few people had a "car phone" in those times. The nearest phone was probably either some payphone whose location was unknown to the people around Matt, or the office building of that parking lot that was hard to get to, crowded, and busily in use. It is very much possible, anyway. I've encountered much trouble finding a phone in "those times."

Agreed. I remember being a young teen and needing to call 911 because i saw a house on fire out in the middle of nowhere. I had to run miles, literally, to get to the closest house and banged on their door and begged to use their phone. It was a different world back then honestly haha.

Seems this is always the case where the woman kills a rival in a love triangle; the man must be blamed somehow. Because the thought of holding a woman wholly responsible for her own actions apparently makes people uncomfortable.

The thing about tech start-ups in the 90s was that the capital was hard to get, since there were a dime a dozen tech firms all trying to be the next Apple or Microsoft. That being said, the fact that two members of the same company were murdered while training or on payroll within a year of each other is bizarre. As someone who has traveled and stayed places for work and training, a common thing is to have insurance taken out on you by the employer as a stop gap in case something happens to you in an effort to recoup some of the investment they made in signing you/bringing you on. Is it possible that this company had used these possible insurance plans as a way to bring in more capital to fund the company's potential growth?

Can't believe people are blaming the guy in the first story for her death. Yes, cheating is wrong and I hate it BUT that doesn't give you the right to kill someone. That's not rational at all. She should've been mad at him and left him instead of getting mad at the girl and killing her. She's crazy and most likely would've done this even if they were broken up and she found him with another girl. It's the, "if I can't have him, neither can you." Mentality.

Not trying to throw accusations or put her under fire but I had seen a very detailed account and the woman he ended up marrying a year later was very quick to swoop in after Liz was killed. She came around providing him “comfort” and helping him with all kinds of stuff. It was said that they didn’t develop a relationship right away but this woman always placed herself around him until eventually something did start up. That gave me this feeling that she had a thing for the husband and felt if she could get Liz out of the way, it would give her the open opportunity while he was in a vulnerable state. I could be totally off and maybe he had some part in it too but i remember after hearing all the details about her presence immediately after the shooting, I had an overwhelming feeling that this was what occurred

23:30 ish In regards to the “road rage” theory - I do think it’s possible that he seriously pissed off someone who was not mentally stable the day before or very recently, and the person tailed him to work that day without Matt noticing. Suspect is in a blind rage but they pay attention to the color of his car and what he looks like when he gets to work. Then they leave, presumably to go to their own job. Then they come back with their gun on their day off. That would explain why the guy tailed the wrong car but the right color, but didn’t end up killing them - they saw it wasn’t the same person. So they waited by the entrance for the right person.

A few things about Matt’s case that make me think it was a combination of employers/mil: 1. The explorer knew what vehicle to look for. The victims vehicle was provided by the employer. He likely waited outside the parking lot and mistakenly followed the Probe in. Then left the lot to wait for Matt to arrive. 2. Government often works closely with tech companies, especially massive chip producing ones. 3. Somebody from his chain of command was found dead, with no information provided about his death. They likely knew something they shouldn’t have. 4. The boss, who if involved, would have likely been the only one to know about the hit, checked his ID first. This is usually done when confirming a successful hit. 5. Why did Matt park that far out in the lot? Was he told to? There were plenty of open spots that were unmarked, seemingly closer to the entrance. 6. We have seen “coincidences” before involving high profile people. Epstein was on sui*ide watch, but was put in a cell that happened to have faulty security cameras. Ended up lifeless under suspicious circumstances. 7. Suspect vehicle was dark in color, but not Grey, black, blue, green, or red. No Ford Explorer outside of those colors has a black trim except for Mocha Frost metallic, which is a light tan color.
@LardyMcFly
Жыл бұрын
I'm not saying you're wrong, but just to play Devil's advocate.... 1. No he didn't know what vehicle to look for. That's why he followed the wrong car at first. A contract killer would know EXACTLY what kind of car their mark is driving. And if Matt's employer rented the car for him, and also hired the hitman, they would be able to tell him the make and model of the car. A Chevy Corsica (that's what it looked like) looks nothing like a Ford Probe. 2. True, but widely speculative to assume this is one of those companies or that it automatically means something nefarious is going on. 3. Unexpected deaths happen all the time. If everyone (or most of the people) in his chain of command come up dead, then you might be onto something. 4. Matt had just started at the company and he was slumped over face-down, so they probably weren't positive who had been shot. If you came across a dead body lying face-down would you grab their hair and turn their lifeless head around so you could see their face or would you just grab their ID out of their pocket? 5. I park in the same spot whenever I go into work because it was the closest open spot the first time I parked there, so I try to always park there (or somewhere close) so I can remember where I parked. He was in a rented car, so he may have needed extra help remembering where he parked. Or maybe he didn't want to get door dings on a rented vehicle so he was trying to park far away from everyone else. 6. Yes that's true, but it's anecdotal. It doesn't necessarily have direct relevance to this case. 7. Ford may not offer that color scheme, but people can repaint their vehicle a different color.
