Casey put this solo up for sale on our site; when you pick it up you get down-tempo recordings to play along with and a letter from the man himself. It should also be mentioned that he gets a fat cut of the sale $ too so your purchase is directly supporting him and helping him to keep on writing cool music for all of us to enjoy! Check it out, it's called "Collected," and it's on D'Rumpus. (we'd put the URL in here but KZitem doesn't like that)

As incredible as guys like Casey and Pacheco are, I think you all DCI enthusiasts should direct yourselves to one drum set player and study his ideas and technique: Buddy Rich. Look for "buddy rich 1970", "buddy rich stick trick solo", "buddy rich boston pops" "buddy rich vs ed shaughnessy" "buddy rich solo de bateria" "buddy rich at the hague" "buddy rich on why he doesn't use match grip", "buddy rich two o' clock" and SO ON then shake your heads in disbelief. There will never another him.

@macleod300 I use set as a stress relief and maybe to make a little money. I use my set once or twice a week, snare drumming every day. There is no technique to set drumming so anyone can play a set like Barker. It takes a lot more skill to play snare. This is due to the fact that in the fall time (for high schools) you are marching in a billion(exaggerated) different directions on top of that we will be playing some very difficult stuff. Do that for one season and then talk to me about Barker.

@TVOham Are you kidding? Why are you so ignorant of his style and skills. I used to be just like you, thinking I was better than him, but I realized I am nowhere near as good as he is. For punk rock and alternative music, he is the best drummer in that genre easily. If you want to talk what drummers that think are amazing in other genres I can list tons. His stuff may be "simple" to play, but his stamina and his imagination he uses to create the drum tracks in blinks songs are unreal.
