It looks like the wings are hinged, do they fold for carrier storage?

Yes they do! Now why on earth didn’t I mention that!? D’oh!!

@@Terrys-Steam-and-Cobi Big oof. Good vid though. Maybe just make an update on the fleet later that mentions it?

I'm really enjoying this series of reviews, really cool. One detail I think that would add loads more character would be to paint or use a marker pen to highlight the cylinders on the engine, light blue is okay but black would make them stand out. I also have a certain fondness for this type of aircraft as I once had the opportunity to get inside a fully restored one, front and rear (the same one that ditched on off Florida a few years back).

Thanks Steve! I have been working today on a video of the C-47 Dakota. It will be posted this evening, but you may already be in bed in Devon. You mention picking out details. There is a fellow on facebook that has taken his COBI vehicles and has done the full weathering treatment like you would do for a fine scale model. Some brick purists are not so sure but I think they’re awesome!

I do wish the ball gunner would move. Honestly, the only reason I want this aircraft was because of the ball gunner

@@USA12916 yeah it doesn’t move. But for a 1:48 brick model it’s still super cool.

You know I think its my favourite so far too. I really like these naval aircraft anyway but this kit is hard to beat.👍

Hello Terry, I have a question: can you put a figure in the back of the plane?. Greetings from Germany

Hi. By back if you mean where the ball turret is, no. If you mean right behind the pilot, no. That space was for equipment and not crew.

I love this set too, my favorit part is that the wings will fold up and with a few road plates you can build them waiting on a MOC carrier deck for deployment. I like how the F4U and F4F will do that too. Make for a nice display. Then just drop the wings and they are ready to take off and fight the Battle of Midway. Thank you for your fine video.

@@lkmh3223 thanks so much! You know, after I posted the video someone else commented about the wings folding. I did a major face palm 🤦 because that’s one of my favourite features too and I completely forgot to include it! Lol. Maybe I’ll do a short featuring it.

i use basic grey road plates under several of my planes because they give airfield effects or carrier deck effect at very low cost.

@@lkmh3223 great idea. My problem is I am out of hobby space because of my large scale layout. I hang the bigger planes above that with very light fishing line.

I hate to say this, But have you ever run out of ceiling space. I'm real damn close. :)
