OMG💖🌹 That was exactly what I was looking for. So well explained. I wondered how you were gonna join and knit in the round with a 9" circular needle. Thanks a million for that great tip in closing the round. I loved and enjoyed every second of your video. I must give this a try. Which means that I can also knit a neckband with small circular needles. Wondered HOW🙄. Thanks for sharing caring and making me smile 😄💖. A big hug from France. 👍🌹🌹🌹🥰🥰🥰

I am so happy to hear that this has been helpful for you! I use this method for any 'in the round' cast on and love it! It seems to eliminate that little jog at the start of the round! Thank you for your lovely comment and feedback, I really appreciate it!

I heard you mention you cast on with circulars and then transfer to the magic loop. At what point do you transfer and how do you do that once you’ve joined? Thank you....😝💖

Thank you for watching and for your question. I hope I can provide you with a good reply. I usually transfer the sock onto magic loop after I've completed the first row on the 9" circular needle. This makes sure that I don't accidentally twist the stitches during the transfer. To transfer the stitches, I take my longer needle (I usually use a 32 inch 2.25 mm/US1 needle) and knit the first half of the stitches from the small circular with it which moves half the project onto the new needle. At this stage, you will have the first half your stitches on the new needle, and the other half on your small needle. Once I have knit half the stitches (for my 56 stitch sock, this is 28 stitches), I will pull the longer needle through as per the magic loop technique and then knit the other half of the stitches onto the long needle. At the end of the round, my small circular needle is no longer needed and I continue to knit in magic loop for the rest of the sock. I hope this explanation helps you. Please let me know if you need any further help. Happy knitting!

I can’t see clearly but are you knitting with the purl bump side facing you?

Yes, that’s right. I make sure the working yarn always comes from the right side of the stitches. I hope that helps.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to knit a sock toe on these needles? I have them and liked them in my work, but I don’t like that at the end of knitting I have to switch to other knitting needles, I want them to be self-sufficient.

I usually switch to magic loop for the toe when I use these needles for the majority of the sock. It’s just become second nature to me and I keep them in my project bag ready for the switch. I have heard that some people use two of these 9” needles for the toe, it works a little bit like the hiya hiya flexi flips
