love it :-) nobody appriciates music like this anymore... but I am 14 and learning this on piano. I aspire to someday play as well as George Winston and Vince Guaraldi :-)

I believe Vince himself would enjoy this version. I especially liked hearing all the harmonics ringing after 3:30. Great performance!

Simply enchanting, magical, mesmerizing...I so adore your playing...and watching you take total control of the piano, not content just with the keys...but you play the strings, too, as if no domain is out of reach. Brilliant, totally brilliant. I melt with your touch, handsome man.

Out of all the versions of this tune, I like this one the most, he doesn't jazz it out and ruin it. Great job George!

The chord at 2:54 won it over for me. This is one of my favourite songs and this is certainly my favourite version.

The great Vince Guaraldi's signature song --i believe George Winston's version here is equally bittersweet and enigmatic. Winston is doing it without a drummer and bassist --pretty amazing work --

PS - I see now that Winston is a big Guaraldi fan, so I guess it is inappropriate to compare the two. Birds of a feather.

I love all the renditions of this song from Ramsey Lewis to Quincy Jones and Vince Guaraldi to George Winston. He definitely puts a different, but nice, spin to it! Thanks lure76!

Winston definitely re-states the composer --but he's as on the same wavelength as he can get. Vince played his song with his trio; George is going it alone, has to provide his own bass and rhythm section. As a result, he can't 'play' the silences nor let his right hand fly off into the air, as Vince can and does so incredibly musically wonderfully. Two masters at work, won't be the same work. George is channeling, in his own boat.

I'm baffled by how he can sound so good with such TERRIBLE piano technique. My piano teacher would freak out if I played with straight fingers like that. But he's amazing in spite of it. Beautiful music no matter how it's played. :-)

This is good easy listening, but in no way is this the same song. This isn't jazz. Appreciate he likes Guaraldi, but this interpretation was off for me.

@dawgs770 I thinks it's not a miss, dawgs --he's modulating between the C-sharp and the G-sharp --the heart of the song, really --the fall of the chirpy face to the note of sadness beneath it.

There's an earlier (i think earlier) version of George Winston playing CYFTtW --it's a little faster and a little less stylized --some parts entirely different --but it's good, it's reeeeal gooood ---- i get a error trying to post the URL, but just search [ cast your fate to the wind george winston sheet music ] --and open the url from Aldy32.

Very nice! But forgive me if I stick up for the Vince Guaraldi Trio version. He wrote it, I believe, and popularized it. He also wrote the Charley Brown Christmas music. Wonderful melodic imagination coupled to a light and jazzy feel.
