I still remember when I was 17 years old, I cosplayed as a female Simon Belmont for Halloween. I went with a red wig and a mink coat one of my friends made (Chronicles version), and I went to a haunted house somewhere in NY (it was held at a jail somewhere...) I had the whip (actually a prop from an old Indiana Jones costume someone was selling on eBay) and anytime an actor jumped out and scared me, I'd crack the whip on the ground/wave it at them. That was in my senior year of high school. It was so fun.

I love how Medusa Heads are so often associated with clock tower levels and instant death pits and yet the greatest challenge the they offer in the entire series takes place in a flat hallway with only 2 other enemies and no instant death. That is legenday level design right there.

When I was little I would always get to this stage, then get defeated by death. All that long enemy filled hallway was just too hard for me. That makes this song so nostalgic… I remember hearing it through the stage was like fighting hard against a fate you know you have few chances to defeat. Hearing it while closing on to death's hall was like raging forth to your demise, but fighting until the very end. That's the feeling this song reminds me of… the determination I felt spending hours on this stage but never being able to get through. This game was such a masterpiece to deliver such feelings.
