Castlevania Bloodlines will always be my absolute favorite castlevania game of all time and it was my very first castlevania game ever.. The goriness and creepy atmosphere is what really drew me into the game and i remember having nightmares with that gear boss at the germany stage. Next to Symphony, Harmony of Dissonance and Aria. This castlevania is the pinnacle of 16-bit gaming.that Sunset at Greece along with that breathtaking music and view, The Tower of Pisa, The gory deaths of bosses, The astounding music. Bloodlines is simply a Damn Masterpiece.

What makes it more awesome is that it was a debut title for SNES but Konami managed to make it one of the best looking games of the system.

"Squeeze out great music from the Mega Drive(paraphrasing of course)" Dude, Street of Rage 2, Shinobi series. This very channel has a Mega Drive video showcasing how powerful the sound could be when the devs knew how to use it. It was SEGA's fault for offering very little documentation on how to work with the sound chips at the time, and unashamedly offering that documentation for a price, but it was by no means weak. Love your channel. I smile everytime I check on it and there's new stuff that blows me away.

Hector Garfria Oh but I really love the Mega-Drive sound. What I meant in that episode is that it was not really well known for great orchestral sounding scores. So Konami did an awesome job on Bloodlines/the new generation.

The megadrive didn't need extra hardware it gpu and cpu where far superior. But the biggest advantage megadrive had was its faster system bus speed and fast DMA giving greater bandwidth to push more graphics than the snes. It's downfall was it small palet ram, though with shading this can be increased to at least 1,500 colours.

Watching this again, I think Lecarde's feminine appearance is probably a reference to Vampire Hunter D. After all, he wields the Alucard Spear, and ultra-bishounen Alucard is Castlevania's own version of Dracula's dhampyr son. Dracula only bangs really hot human chicks, I guess.

Konami used to make music back in the day that I always referred to as Konami music. They had great tunes during the 8-bit era, but the 16-bit era was even better. Everything from Castlevania to Rocket Knight Adventures as well as their Ninja Turtle arcade games had kick ass music. They knew how to get the most out of every piece of hardware they worked with to get the best sounding music.

A few things. Maria Renard is only Annette's sister in Dracula X on the SNES, not in Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine (in which Annette is given no last name). It's not really clear that Richter is Simon's Great Grandson, because that would make Juste Belmont his father. But Juste's adventure took place 50 years after Simon's Quest but about 50 years prior to Rondo of Blood. So the number of Greats added to his lineage is unclear. Still, you are making the most comprehensive CV retrospective that I've ever seen! And I love the voice over! A little disappointed not to see Haunted Castle here, it fits the mold of 16 bit graphics.

+strafefox Understandable, but it seems irresponsible for a professional history not to include as it shares the same Japanese name as the original Castlevania, the X68000 Chronicles game and Super Castlevania 4. 6:36 You say John is a descendent of the Belmont family but later mention he's the son of the main character from the original Bram stoker novel. Those are two different families, So how is he the son of Quincy Morris and also a descendent of the Belmont family???
@strafefox
7 жыл бұрын
They weren't to fussy about the whole Castlevania timeline in those days.. I think the developers or perhaps even the writer of the manual just wanted to try something a little different and tie it in loosely with Bram Strokers book. So one of the Belmont woman could have married a Morris at one point...
@astrograph7875
