When he said the burn guy opted to go home I was shocked but then I remembered that this was during another covid spike and realized he may not have wanted to use up resources or catch covid along with his horrible burns. Plus he comes from some tough stock.

I've always been treated with kindness here in the US (with one or two rare exceptions--but even those weren't that bad!) If I had an accident, I'd rather be treated by UK medics. They don't call us "dear" and "lovey" here. I love the British way of giving such verbal comfort to patients, as well as providing expert medical care.

It could be they are just kinder people in the UK, or it could be because they are in front of cameras and have to be. I would prefer to think they are just simply kinder people. I know when I go to my PC (male) any question I ask is met with eye roll, dirty look and no answers. He's only conversed with me once and that was probably because he had a trainee assistance with him that day. I am female and 80. Things change when one gets older, unfortunately. It is not a change for the better, unfortunately.

I worry about covid all the time. I've been living in hospital for a year now, due to a nasty chronic illness. I've tested positive TWICE! I was isolated both times. Zero symptoms. No illness. I spent several days, both times, happily enjoying the solitude. I'm introverted. The peace and quiet was splendid. I share a room with three other ladies, one of whom is a constant melt down screamer. Sigh. Carl is amazing. I know he was in pain, I could see the signs. But he's made of very tough stock.
@gsdalpha1358

Testing positive twice with NO symptoms means your immune system is working. Stop worrying, hun. Recent studies show people who've had covid with no illness and no symptoms can have better and longer immunity than any number of shots. Sorry about the screamer; I went through a night in hospital with a person screaming, moaning, and projective vomiting. It was horrible, and I told my doctor the next morning to either move me or I was checking myself out. He moved me. Sending bright blessings you can find relief from your illness.

So bizarre they casted an open fracture why not just a half cast to allow swelling? Interesting to see how they do things differently. I do see they use their nurses more. Much more efficient to have nurses really specialized like in strokes who see stroke patients.

So if two people have covid you put them together, but what if they have different strains? Wouldn't that increase the danger if they end up with two strains at once?
@gsdalpha1358
Жыл бұрын
Almost statistically impossible for two strains to exist at the same time. That's why we saw "waves" of different strains but none occurring at the same time. There was always a time lapse between the different strains, yeah?
