Get a 2” combination wrench. You will eventually need to change the quick connects on the machine. The top high flow quick connect has an o ring that will collapse in the fitting and your head suddenly will get slow for no apparent reason. You just have to change the quick connect high flow fitting. It might be a while before it does it, but it will happen. Also get a box set of cat o rings, because you will have a few blow out on some fittings somewhere when all the parts supply places are closed. Other than that, they are great machines.

Hey sir, your videos in the future would be much better if we can hear your comments. Not certain if you realized that. Enjoyed your thoughts n dislikes vs others. I am either looking at a 2019 Cat 299 d forestry unit or the ASV RT120F. I'd love the RT120F although warranty work would be a pain n the amount of down time. As even new machines break down very often. What was the leading decision with the 299d vs others? Did Cat give you your choice of tracks, n what were their concerns n thoughts comparing steel vs rubber tracks? Can you order wider tracks? I have heard that many Cats have caught on fire while working n they are said to have holes everywhere for debris to into hot engine components. What was your dislikes on the Kubota 95? Your choice on your head is 100% wise decision imho. That'll be my choice along with a disc cutter as a backup if possible. I will have 30k just in my rigging of a field service truck. As I have 20 plus yrs as a HDuty field mechanic n I take great care of my machines. Let alone my shop n 60k tools there. I am 60 n 6 heart stents unfortunately n been retired for 14 yrs. Didn't save enough $$$ for my hobby choice of hobbies. For you reading this, please save 3x more than you thought. If I have to go back n work again I want to make good money. Look forward to any new videos stating how your machines are holding up n ect,,, I gauge a great deal just watching n thinking about the many comments n challenges. Thanks, Ty Clark northern Michigan. Looking for a honest hard worker who has a newer excavator with DC head to combine our work n profits.

I’m looking at this same exact setup. Having difficulty choosing between fecon dcr Head and this denis Cimaf Head. If you don’t mind me asking what did your setup cost you with the level 2 land management package?

Rough Neck I would recommend the Denis Cimaf. It’s a great head unit. 121 with tax.

121k with a 180d head? Heck that’s a great price. I’ve been quoted around 131k without tax for the same set up!

I have been thinking of starting my own business and doing this type of work, not just forestry work but dirt work as well. Do you do this work on the side or is this a full time job/company for you??

I doubt many people spend $121k for a machine if they’re doing it on the side

How do you like the cimaf compared to the g4 , I just bought g4 price was way more reasonable for me
@NCForestryLandscaping

Steve Walsh the Cimaf and G4 both are great mulchers however the Cimaf seems to be a little faster on recovery and doesn’t bog down because it has a depth gauge ring built in to each tooth so it doesn’t stall out as much. Both are good. I think it boils down to preference.

How much are these machines?
@NCForestryLandscaping

LKN4WAR it depends on where you are located. I am in the southeast and when talking to guys I feel like prices are different in different areas. Northern parts of the country I think they are a little higher because they have to ship. The machines are manufactured in NC so I think you get a little better deal. I’ve heard from 84000-92000 from different states and dealers.
