Hurricane Dora intensified unexpectedly, and has retained its intensity. The system will decrease in intensity over time, and will make its way across the Central Pacific, likely remaining a Tropical Cyclone as it nears the Western Pacific.
Other tropical systems are being monitored as well in the Northern Hemisphere. As of now, the North Atlantic is quiet. However, no systems have fully taken advantage of the well above average waters, and the possibility of stronger systems in an above average season remains. All waves moving into the MDR will be monitored.
Severe Weather coming for some areas of the Eastern United States. Supercells and a QLCS or even a derecho are all on the table. Tornados, strong winds, hail, flash flooding, and frequent lightning are all hazards.
