found it. Far from being elevator music, its called Happy Go Lively by Laurie Johnson. One of the best british orchestral composers of the 20th century.

Ladies and gentlemen, in my opinion, Mr. Michael O'Donoghue (and Andy Kaufman), in a way, created Tom Green and Tim and Eric many years later. Think about that for a moment.

Of course I'm sick, baby. I'm in Shanghai for the Calico Aquatic Tournament. The Sichuan Tabby I ate for lunch is still sitting in my stomach like a rock. (Kitten Pao Soup was excellent though).

@SliveyTove ... I remembered that Ren and Stimpy used it... Theres an official Ren and Stimpy LP that was released. unfortunately, it wasnt on there,BUT, it led me to a an UN official release that had all of the incidental music from the show. 6 cds worth. Alas, there it was. Once I did a search on Laurie Johnson, I found I knew quite a bit of his stuff. A truly subversive pop orchestrator and composer in the vein of Esquivel(who is also used on ren and stimpy)

@legolas11795 It's not its called Happy Go Lively by Laurie Johnson, it's a variation of Telstar by Joe Meek.

It IS Telstar. It's used througout "Mondo Video" the same way Riz Ortolani's "More" was used as a theme throughout "Mondo Cane" ( & which was even a heartfelt 60s pop hit!); the tune Telstar had added lyrics by O'Donoghue & Emily Praeger, sung by Julius LaRosa in english at the film's start & gibberish italian-sounding lingo over the end credits. O'Donoghue when asked why he hired a "square" like LaRosa, replied "anyone who gets fired on live TV by a drunk like Arthur Godfrey is OK in my book!" Among the variations of "Telstar" used in the film is the muzak-inspired reorchestration by Laurie Johnson.

Why Can't You People Calm Down. Cats Know How To Swim And The Thing At The End Was With A Pupet. Michael O' Donoghue Loved Cats. And Its Not Like Water Is Painful To Them. Some Cats Like The Water. In My oppion Michael O' Donoghue Was A Genis. And Its A Shame He Died. And I Don't Know Why Most People Don't Like His Comedy.

The swimming part isn't all that concerning. Cats are good swimmers as are most(not all) mammals. The fact that he lobbed them high up in the air to let them do a belly flop is a bit more disturbing, although the slo-mo may have made that look worse than it was as well. The whole vid was funny for about 1 or 2 cats......then it got tiring.

@farmerbrown2a yes, of course. For starters though, I'd like a treaty reducing nuclear weapons and weapons grade material, an opposition party in Congress that doesn't oppose every majority party/presidential proposal (against all logic) purely for political gain (because they are too cowardly to be honest with and lead their fearful radicalized base), some functional regulation of the financial industry...

Are you kidding me? Forcible cat swimming is a federal offense. Mr Mike's death is all a rouse, as he fled the country in 1980. After being tried and convicted in absentia of numerous aquatic cat crimes, he now lives in France next door to Roman Polanski. He and Polanski are often seen enjoying French Fries, French Bread, French dressing, and Pernod at their favorite cafe, the Catrifuge.

Keep in mind Michael O'Donoghue is also the genius responsible for those brilliant impressions of both Ed Sullivan and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir having steel spikes driven into their eyes.. SHEESH! Some people have no sense of humor.

Sorry, but it's not funny, those poor creatures are scared to death. Cats can swim as well as people can survive in extremely cold temperatures. Doesn't mean you have to force them do so to have fun.
