This is a very good video. Growing up in Maryland we never boiled always steamed, never used garlic butter always old bay and never popped the top shell always steamed Alive. Yet and still after seeing this video for the first time in my entire life I will try a spaghetti sauce with the crabs - great video thank you.

I know this video is made years ago but i love how this guy does everything in a humane, law abiding way. He checked the size of the crabs and threw them out if they were pregnant and/or female due to spawning season🥰

What a handsome, polite and knowledgeable young man you are! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I'm headed to Kemah, Texas next week and the house I've rented on the water has a 200' pier with 20 crab nets! I plan on making seafood stock and gumbo with any I catch. I haven't been crabbing in many years. It was nice to see how responsible and respectful y'all were with your practices.

I know this is a year old comment, but I am in the area and looking to go crabbing (most likely around Wrightsville Beach) , I've been looking online for regulations but have found some mixed information. Can someone please tell me the specifications? Do I need a inland/ coastal license or a special device license? If I don't have a license can I use a collapsible net/trap? Whats the daily limit? Any answers can help, as specific as possible. Thanks in advance!!

Love this video, I've done a lot of crabbing on the west coast in humboldt bay. I find, if you make friends with your local butcher you can score all kinds of good bait for free. My guy let me in the back to get whatever I wanted out of the bin. Crabs I have found out, love salmon heads and halibut scraps. Chicken is my go to wihout heads and fish parts. Man you east coast dudes would flip out fishing for Dungeness crab...their pretty big, super meaty and ungodly delicious when fresh. Almost all crabs are great tho.

Hey man, i saw you taking the crabs home in a bucket of water, that will actually kill them much faster, they can survive out of water for over 8 hrs. Leaving them in a bucket of water, they use all the oxygen up amd drown. Also, steaming crabs is the best way to cook them.

All of NCC and most of Kent have some type of consumption advisories. If you check the DNREC fishing guide it tells you exactly whats in the water for certain ponds. It looks like most of the ponds in Sussex are fair game for consumption.
