For us in parts of the world where catch wrestling and wrestling in general are non existent is there any instructional videos, books, etc that you please could recommend? I think it is not difficult to find isolated techniques here and there in KZitem, but it is hard to get a progression of instructions which build up skills in a coherent and systematic way. Is wrestling in general taught as a progression of skills from simple to complicated or just as a group of isolated techniques and tactics?

Books are a good starting point (i.e G .de Relwyskov's The Art of Wrestling), these - alongside solo and group wrestling drills are excellent places to begin your journey. So long as you and a couple friends have access to a field and the internet, wrestling is yours.

I'm living in Indonesia as an American, and wrestling is non-existent here. I want to learn myself and teach my son as he gets older

do the drill for 1-2 min rest for 1 min 3 rounds 5 min rest after then move to the next drill. this will take time but you will build endurance through it on top of muscle memory
