It’s funny you mentioned getting stuck on a tree. I ran up on a tree at a local lake with standing timber. A branch stub got caught in one of my scupper holes. I was only able to pivot in a circle. I could try to paddle off. I would go forward about a foot and then pulled back once the tree settled back to position. I was basically alone on the lake. Eventually, I was able to feel another stump on which I was able to use my paddle to leverage myself up and off the branch along with a not so gracious move to lessen my weight. I managed to free myself and stay dry at the same time. I just thought that was an extremely rare situation. But, you make me wonder if others have had their scupper holes used as a pivot point by some underwater tree. In my case, it was still warm enough that a little swim was not dangerous. I would not however, want to face that option in the winter. Thanks for another informative and motivating video.

It’s definitely not a good feeling. One of my worst experience was on the river fishing near a dam in winter. I got stuck on a big branch and there was only 1 other boat on the water. I yelled to him and he came with a rope to pull me off. Was almost a very embarrassing call to the fire department lol. I would be very hesitant to go to this lake in winter on a weekday when no one else would be on the water. Thank you for sharing your story and thank you for watching the video!

Glad it did not disappoint! Near Charlottesville, I really like Totier creek. I went there march 1st and had some luck. Ragged mountain is pretty fun but lots of little fish. Fluvanna Ruritan is a sleeper lake that is tough to fish but has bigs. Walnut Creek is pretty good. Lots of small fish. Hopefully that gives you some water to cover. Those were some awesome catches. Is that lake in VA. and if so can it be bank fished? I don’t have any type of boat
@FullTimeFishing

Yes, it is in VA. It’s called briery creek. Most of the lake can be bank fished because it’s wildlife management and not private property. If you ever look into getting a kayak the RS117 is very good for the price.

Just started fishing the magdraft last month. No luck on it so far (mostly bank fish). Also I’m in the Midwest not sure if that has anything to do with the lack of bites. Any tips ? I have the line through and will be getting the freestyle soon. Just followers and bumps so far

I’d it’s a cloudy windy day fish it above their heads. If it’s sunny I fish it slower on bottom. But if it’s more calm and sunny, you might want to use a 4 inch fat swing impact instead of a mag draft. Are you fishing ponds or lakes?
@ILhunter23
6 ай бұрын
@@FullTimeFishing smaller lakes and ponds . I’ll usually do a 5 second count before reeling it. The 4in swim baits on underspins are tried and true but I’m stubborn on catching some on the magdraft 😂
@FullTimeFishing
6 ай бұрын
@@ILhunter23 you might be letting it fall too deep. I would try 1-2 seconds and reeling. If it is below them they are not going to commit as much as if it’s above their heads.

Your videos pop up in my feed from time to time and I would sub up but honestly I can't take hearing "let's freakin go guys" or "let's goooo" every time you catch a decent fish and a tip for you, when you hook those big fish you don't give them time to fight you just grind them in as fast as possible (assuming you have the right swimbait gear to do so). I've got somewhere's around 40 fish over 7 with a 13.2 pb and I'm telling you this because that quantity number would be triple if someone would've told me in the beginning of my swimbait career but heck..it was 2004 in SoCal and only a few people even knew what they were. Good luck. ;)

@@FullTimeFishing I like it, it definitely has its uses. I mainly use it to fish deep offshore structure that I wouldn’t have been able to fish before having FFS.
