If we repel electrons the spot gets dimmer. How do we then know how high exactly is the voltage. A much brighter screen will indicate more voltage.
@mohammadhussainaskari8571
7 жыл бұрын
very nice explanation , but i didn't understand where do we inject the input signal because from this explanation it seems that it will always produce the same spots regardless of input signal to the oscilloscope .??
@myhometuition
7 жыл бұрын
There are two inputs, namely the X-input and the Y-input. The X-input connected to the X-plate whereas the Y-input connected to the Y-plate. X-input can be the time-base. kzitem.info/news/bejne/052B05-GsIiSeX4

how does the control grid control the number of electron ?
@myhometuition
7 жыл бұрын
The control grid apply a positive voltage on the electrons. The higher the voltage, the less electron will pass through the grid.
@tanaykarve
7 жыл бұрын
But how does voltage determine the passing of electrons?
@joetyler835
7 жыл бұрын
Tanay Karve higher positive voltage will pull more elctrons since elctrons are negative. And vice versa

@@myhometuition if we apply a positive voltage then more electron will pass as electron has -ve charge.

In my Grundig television first is tungsten heating filament, then cathode (3 RGB cathode), then 1st greed 1 (CONTROL GRID G1) to control electrons brightness, then 2nd grid (SCREEN GRID G2) to accelerate electrons towards screen, then 3th grid (FOCUS GRID G3) to focus the high speed beam, and then there is 4th grid for astigmatism or another acceleration level, not sure for this 4th grid.

I'm confused with cathodes and anodes. Can someone explain? In chemistry the cathode experiences reduction (wants electron) while the anode oxidizes (emits electron). Is the terminology different in physics?
@sof6252
4 жыл бұрын
Cathode and anode generally are different as cathode is positive and anode is negative. However, in electrolysis in chemistry its quite the opposite based on how it conducts electricity through an electrolyte.
