The name of the species has a double reference: on one hand, it derives from its origin point in the southern part of Madagascar, on the other hand in Latin it literally means "noon", probably referring to the characteristic of its small and graceful yellow flowers that bloom in that part of the day. It looks like a shrub that in the wild reaches up to 2 meters in height, while in cultivation it remains much smaller but still takes on a wonderful shrub appearance, a real bonsai characterized by a caudiciform stem, slightly swollen at the base and with a woody appearance, which tends to branch out abundantly. During the growing season, peculiar pinnate leaves develop which do not exceed 3 cm and make Senna meridionalis even more ornamental, perfect for giving an extra touch of style to any setting.
