Matthew 16:24-26 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?"

Thanks! My wife does the pressure canning. I'll have a video in 2 Saturdays of me doing that but I don't go in detail. I never shown much of me gutting them because youtube hates it. However maybe I'll do a video of it in the near future of me gutting cleaning and canning a few rabbits.

Im wondering if you saved a few of the bladders/glands and made freeze proof rabbit scent if it would help with the spots they are avoiding. 🤔 1/3 gland 1/3 glycerin & 1/3 vodka
@DanielSturge

I don't honestly think it would. Here is my reasoning. There is piss all over the trails from many rabbits. This time of year they are not very territorial or leaving scent for mates. They are just eating and staying warm and relying on snow to reach new tips and vegetation. Maybe towards the end of March when they start breeding it would work but trapping ends for them then. Food is the only lure this time of year they are interested in, in these temperatures of -30. Would probably work and be better suited as a lure for cats or fox. Plus they almost always release themselves when they are strangled in a snare. I just cleaned over 20 rabbits and only 2 had full bladders where I had to be careful not popping them and they only hold about a bottle cap of pee. Thanks for watching my friend. I hope it brought you some joy. Take care

I've use it for making a soft fur shelf for bow to reduce noise when shooting. No plans on these yet. I'm sure the wife wants some for cuffs on gloves and stuff.
@joemathews3445

@BackwoodsBarbarian Yeah I hear you there.....great idea on the whiskers to help silence the bow, it's a breath of fresh air seeing every part get used. I figured that if you did preserve and tan all those hides (which has to be in the hundreds if not thousands) that you'd use the primitive methods by using the brains to cure the hides and smoke to color the hide for that perfect caramel color.. I have to say, I love rabbit hunting and I enjoy watching you the most out of anybody else (and there is a ton of people out there making videos these days). I relate with you the most and I love that you take your son and that you taught him how to use the most humane ways of taking a life, then thanking that animal for helping us eat and the phrases from the bible.....you are a good man and one hell of a trapper sir. I don't have a lot of spare time as most don't these days, but at the end of a long day I enjoy spending time watching your videos... Keep on doing what you do....hell you just might become famous !

All things, glory to God. Thank you sir for those kind words. Put a smile on my face! I really appreciate that and you taking the time to comment. I have not brain tanned rabbit but I did save some to do it this spring. Before I moved here and I lived in New Brunswick I caught lots of rabbit and flying squirrels but did them with eggs. Simple egg tanning method. I had chickens so I had free eggs for tanning. Thanks again!
